lightness of being

Lightness of being ….by Elizabeth

Elizabeth's avatarTea & Paper

Reena’s image

in between colours and dreams
she carries the weight of her ancestors
in her veins and heart
victories and achievements
pain and submission
laugh by the bonfire and paint on her skin
the shine in the eyes and wrinkles of wisdom
her face doesn’t betray the lightness of her being

When she bleeds, she bleeds in technicolor

She bleeds in technicolor ….. by Sadje

Sadje/ Sadie's avatarKeep it alive

Physically weak

Mentally strong

Women the epitome

Ofinherent strength

Shoulders the burden

Carries the entire weight

Of the family she helps raise

There are so many faces of her

Each in its own way perfect

My mother, my sister, my daughter

In every role she excels

Even when she bleeds

She bleeds in Technicolor

Up you go girl

Up you go girl ….. by Aishwarya

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

P.C :- RxC # 270

The ladder is insurmountable,

so it may seem,

The ladder is uncompromising,

so it may feel,

The ladder is unjust,

so you may experience,

The ladder is inflexible,

so you may dwell,

Up you go girl,

The sky’s the limit,

But not for you,

Unstoppable!

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #270: She Repaints the tainted man

She repaints the tainted man ….. by Amanda

Damien de Soto's avatarHerder of Swine

The heart of a woman is deep, like an ocean, its waters, cool, delight, chill, numb, dancing on the skin of those who love them, sometimes they even speak to those like them, who stand on risen ladder, and paint back the colors of the sky onto the faces of the decaying cry

For the heart of man, that exists in the chaotic nothingness that are the heavily trafficked highways of anonymity, it is such an honor to paint with the colors of love back the bright light of hope onto the tragic messages that chant to those of the anonymous pounding highways that radiate through the channels of the night.

In rare times, like this one, my eyes are drawn up, to a fellow human who with desire for kindness paints back colors of joy on the face of a fellow, sensing moral decay, she…

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #270- Ghosting Rarer Souls

Ghosting rarer souls …..by Susan St. Pierre

Susan St.Pierre's avatarSillyfrog's Blog

I’ve been having a great deal of fun with triolets lately. I created one for this beautiful prompt image.

How varied the colors our eyes comprehend,
Ghosting rarer souls from our clear ‘view’.
Appearance defines not one person, my friend.
How varied the colors our eyes comprehend.

Unique among billions. Diverse without end.
Human ‘ranking’ – corrupt and untrue.
How varied the colors our eyes comprehend,
Ghosting rarer souls from our clear ‘view’.

I Used To Be Seventeen

I used to be seventeen …..by Michelle Ayon Navajas

michnavs's avatarmichnavs

I Used To Be Seventeen

“what do you want from me?”
i asked myself
i want you to be seventeen again
maybe then, just maybe
you could undo things that happened
your adult self couldn’t accept as true
for being young and vulnerable
for being young and weak
for being young and helpless.

how dare you let it happen?
how dare you played dumb and stupid?
you were not dumb; much more stupid
but at that moment
that longest 20 minutes of your life
you were, without a doubt
no contest; dumb and stupid.

how dare you miss the signs?
how dare you believe the lies?
how dare you blame it on being young
and being so naive at the same time
didn’t you even think anything wrong
could happen to you?

you were pinned down the ground by a man
twice your size, just not twice your age
but…

The Color of Your Dreams

The Color of Your Dreams …. by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

Fingers of all colors massage both sides of the bridge on your nose while rainbow colors blend all over your face.  I have not met you yet, but I feel like I can understand your emotions just by looking into your eyes.  There are many benefits to keeping your eyes clean, as when they get dirty, they can be very unsightly, affecting your vision and how you appear to others.  It is not a problem for me, but I thought I should mention that you have Heterochromia, where your right iris is blue and your left iris is green.  I imagine that nobody will ever be singing that Van Morrison song ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ to you.  I spy in your eye a man scratching his head while looking out a window, which is really crazy, but maybe I am just looking through your eyes.  I have read that humans appear to intuitively form…

8th March

International women’s day

I celebrate

Myself

And all of the strong females around me

We are warriors

We are survivors

Full of determination

Our strength shines brightly

In everything we do

Being strong

Is what us women do best

I celebrate on this day

Alongside all women

All over the world.

I Am In Itself Poetry In The Dark (Now in the Philippines)

michnavs's avatarmichnavs

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” —Pele, Brazilian soccer player.

most of us agree that talent matters. i do. but many experts believe the idea that hard work outweighs talent every time. hard work must be the common factor for anyone seeking success, regardless of talent. no amount of talent can supersede hard work. if you have a natural ability, don’t expect it to automatically generate success. it won’t.

physical copies of my 8th book, “I Am In Itself Poetry In The Dark,” released on short notice for Amazon’s kdp book publishing competition last October 2022, are now in Manila, Philippines.

i am genuinely grateful to all my readers and followers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan, Pakistan and India for quickly buying this book on such…
