Acceptance

There’s no going back to wonder why it did not happen once you realise that it has not happened, and it’s final. There’s no point in missing out on the cornucopia that comes only with acceptance. Weekend Writing Prompt #480

LHS 1140b

Thanks for sharing the prompt on History of Earth! My research on Planet Earth led to a very interesting fact. Scientists have just confirmed the presence of an atmosphere on a rocky, Earth-like planet called LHS 1140 b, located about 48 light-years away. This marks the first time an atmosphere has been detected on a … Continue reading LHS 1140b

Webs

Black hole at the center with swirling luminous gases and cosmic dust around it in deep space.

PARATAXIS It is hazy. It has no definable colour or shape. It has a pattern – known but never acknowledged. It is the web of tiny lies spun like a yarn to clothe truth. It is the black hole that will explode rather than reveal its secrets. The Emperor’s new clothes are the grandest spun … Continue reading Webs

The Perfect Myth

Glass prism hanging in the sky dispersing sunlight into a rainbow beam

Perfection is nothing but a goal, and goalposts can shift. It feels good when I move it and challenge myself to excel at something I’ve not tried before. It breaks and bends my effort like a heavy boulder on the back when imposed, and we get busy rationalising why it is all wrong and will … Continue reading The Perfect Myth

But ….

Stylised colorful typography of the word 'BUT' with phrases 'exception', 'aha! opportunity', and 'typography' in a decorative layout

Solace means different things at different points in time. Right now, being heard would feel like great solace to me, but it is not likely to happen. Holding an anti-establishment view in a highly volatile political scenario is not easy. Express your opinions and people in your close circles can jump at you. Being a … Continue reading But ….

Escape

The immeasurable offers an escape from targets. The abstract allows entry into a world of subjective interpretation. Infinity is the defeat of the finite. Eternity of the soul beats Death. It leaves us at the intersection of beliefs and life. Weekend Writing Prompt #477

Rainbow Lyrics

It’s not easy to choose between black and white. They make the choice infinitely more difficult by opening up a spectrum of colours in between, placed over an ambiguous grey sky. I decide to place the clouds in the bath, and the rainbow in my wardrobe. “Dissolve yourself in ether. You need to be the … Continue reading Rainbow Lyrics

A Point of No Return

Person standing on rocky mountain peak with upper body dissolving into blue and black particles.

The spirituality of climbing up a mountain often overpowers the physical discomfort. I touch earth, yet am detached from the plains I have grown up on. I inch closer to the sky, and am compelled to shed rooted parts of myself that limited my view. I see the world in a totally different light. I … Continue reading A Point of No Return

The Ledger of Life

WordPress has a curious way of motivating its writers: “You are on a --- day streak.” For a time, I lived by that counter. I posted every single day — more than 500 in a row — just to keep the streak alive. The challenge was simple: don’t miss a day, don’t break the chain. … Continue reading The Ledger of Life
