Equality

Embrace being female, equality, battle for equity

equal pay, rights, is all we are asking. The same as

men, not better. We strive to make a better life for all.

I am disabled

And I am a woman

I deserve equality

And equity

Most disabled people

And even most women

Don’t get this

But we should!

I strive

To inform

The world

That

Women are strong

Its not the end of the world

To be disabled

Disabled people are strong, too!

Please treat all women

And all disabled people

With respect

With equity

And as equals

Hey everyone,
This is a somewhat unique and personal post for Reena’s xploration challenge and Caley’s writephoto.

It’s no secret that writing is my dream and I mean to do it for the rest of my life. As I write my debut fantasy trilogy(book 2 coming this May), my subconscious has been thinking about what next.

As I lined up Caley and Reena’s prompts, I thought about my own art- Writing. So I looked through my old journals dating back to 2013 and behold: I found my next projects.

Acknowledge the great creator’s role in your creativity. And use those gifts.

I was so excited to find that even then I’d made somewhat meticulous notes on how to write these books; the characters, themes, settings, plotlines, even handwritten 1st chapters for all three books.

In her eyes I see
flashes of uncertainty
of what she could be

Days splash gold at dawn
clouds bathe her in smoky grey
as red blood pounds on

Flakes of orange sun
scatter hope like confetti
till the rain pours down

Colours wash away
leaving pristine white pages
for her each new day

TOUCH-UP

Life is like a painting
even if you make a masterpiece 
you can't sit idle
you can't take it for granted
you always have to be vigilant
to touch-up
wherever the color fades

VISION

Life was like
A never-ending trail in the desert
Colorless
You came up with a palette full of vibrant colors
To fill my world 
With colors of
Love and friendship
Dreams and hopes
I'm overwhelmed but
I fear
Your hope of evoking a sense of colors in me is futile
I wonder 
Whether
Just painting light into my eyes
Will give me the vision
 

Are we living in a construct of escape?
Where reality is often too hard to take.
So it’s easy to turn to screens to distract minds,
And numb feelings with substances of all kinds.

Hiding behind social media masks,
and chasing after likes to fulfill our tasks.
Bingeing on TV shows and endless streams,
And losing ourselves in virtual dreams.

We shop ’til we drop to forget our woes,
And drown in food to comfort our souls.
We seek constant stimulation to avoid boredom,
And rarely stop to face our own kingdom.

But in this world of constant distraction,
We miss the beauty of true interaction.
We forget the joy of a real-life smile,
And the depth of a genuine human style.

Can we unplug and face the day?
And learn to be present in every way.
Can we embrace the real world around us?
And find meaning in life’s…
