How far have I come ….by Aboli Mane

How far I have come I do not know every small step felt just like that a step and nothing else. There are miles ahead I do not know what other pathways lie forked and straight every path I shall try When I chance upon it I do not know whether it is fate to reach the summit high or shall I let time pass by? The golden sunrise seen I don’t know if I shall ever glimpse it but if I do I’ll rest there smiling at the journey’s end.
A reflective poem for Sunday.
I don’t have anything much to add, except that you probably know, I like to reminsce. Where I was, where I am and where I am going.
All I will say is everyone’s journey is different. We all have our paths, our choices and we all deserve to ascend our personal summits.

A timorous type of equity ….by Ken Hume
For today’s Ragtag Daily Prompt, Martha Kennedy has given us the word: Timorous as our poetic inspiration for today. I’ll be combining this prompt with the latest: Reena’s Xploration Challenge asking us to #EmbraceEquity
A TIMOROUS TYPE OF EQUITY
“No, I don’t just want equality”
Rachel blurted out suddenly
Stopping her boss Tim in his tracks.
“What did you say?”
Tim snapped in return.
Annoyed at the temerity of her interuption
“I. I. I. Eh…”
He strode angrily towards her.
And asked her again.
“Well?! What did you just say Miss O’Brien?”
I said….
Her voice now trembling & timorous
“We… don’t… We don’t just want equality,
We want equity!”
“What?!”
He retorted!
“Not just equal opportunities for job progression
But the resources & the training to back it up!”
Her voice in full flow now & growing in confidence.
“I mean, there’s no point in saying we’re all…

A version of equity in equality ….by Aishwarya

I ask for no special place,
I ask for no special status,
I ask for no special concessions,
Acknowledge what is mine, as mine,
It isn’t in your power to give,
It isn’t in my nature to plead,
I wasn’t meant to serve you,
You weren’t meant to boss me,
I ask not for your share,
I’m not ready to forsake mine,
We were meant to live in harmony,
Under the same canvas, we were meant to thrive.
Look around you,
Nature celebrates her female tribe,
Be it a peacock’s search for his bride,
Or a mammoth’s matriarchal pride,
Be it a koel’s call for his mate,
Or a serpent ‘s dream date,
Look around.
Acknowledge my space to live,
You are here, so I am,
You are here, because I am,
Weaker sex was coined by humans like you and me,
Nay, don’t be intimidated by…

Free shoes … by Aboli Mane

A shoe that didn’t fit I wore it anyway a pair too tight a pair too loose none just right. I was lucky, said they I just had a pair others had no shoes others had no privilege while I could choose. When I circled around the block there it stood equality: free shoes people went to war bullets flew. While I walked away on unsteady steps at the corner of street Equity stood plainly handed me my size, discreet. Hand-made just for me not everyone could discern the difference between equity and equality behind the smokescreen.
Written for Reena’s Xploration Challenge #271.

While I am unsure if I managed to do justice to the prompt, here is my rather simplistic take on it. I hope you enjoy it 💕
Thanks for reading 😄
I am Confused …by Amanda
I am confused is a good way to describe how I feel about you
You dance with no need for shoes, exist in a state of okay-ness that is beyond my comprehension, I have no idea what size shoe would fit the foot of a goddess, because a goddess needs no shoes, you are beyond the idea of shoe, having soles fit for walking through life without need for them. I wish to give you shoes but your mysterious feet are beyond my comprehension, and need nothing from the tragic form of a man so below you. I wish for you a world where your glorious feet radiating beauty are recognized as the shoes and feet men lack, but for now I imagine slippers made of stones that cover your feet, caressing them with the kisses of your star dust existence, I am sorry, sweet angels, you deserve so…

Equal=Equity? ….
By Sadje
It happens to be the theme for International Women’s Day 2023. The idea is to not just stop at equality. The images will clarify the idea.

➰➰➰
Women aren’t equal to men in life
They are superior to them in many aspects
But when you look at the rights given to them
In this society of ours, they are lagging behind
So now we women don’t just want equality we demand equity too!
Now we demand to be treated fairly and given equal opportunities
Just like any other member of the society
We shouldn’t be handicapped from the start of the race
By tying weight of our womanhood around our ankles
By loading the dice against us because of our XX- chromosomes
We do more but receive less both in acknowledgment and money
Always remember, without women the society cannot exist
For we are the mothers that birth the sons…

Her very many colors — by Artie and Stu
What she must see?
She has very many
colors seemingly to spare
but uses them carefully
I watch, she knows
in her very eyes
in her very heart
she knows every hue.
Taking back our power ….. by Susi Bocks

Inspired by Reena’s Exploration Challenge #271 – Embrace Equity &
Moonwashed Weekly Prompt #133 – Conversant
all women are conversant
with the inequality befallen their sex
millennia of injustice
every generation fighting
all human beings
if they’d only embrace equity
acting as a collective
what a glorious world we’d be living in
