Another way, having to live in a world where the colour bleached slowly in front of my eyes. One day, having beauty in glorious hues, the next. Every day different. Patches of grey, like little flies I couldn’t get rid of. The next, larger, my peripheral vision without substance.

It was like newspaper being turned into paper Mache. Pulled into a ball so tight, I couldn’t unravel the sense of it. Now, in the middle of the woodlands, all that was left was the sounds of the woodland.

Another day, I knelt down, the dry leaves crumbling though my fingers.

I called his name. ‘Merlin!, here boy.’

Without hesitation my guide dog was by my side. He deserved his freedom, because he always gave me mine. I could continue being a reporter, able to go into dangerous situations, without fear of reprisal. Trust, in those…

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #270 and Wordle 592- Our colourful lives

Our colorful lives ….by Lady Lee

ladyleemanila's avatarLadyleemanila

Time to celebrate our colourful lives

Proud of us every hour ourselves or wives

Stand up! Stand up! Three cheers for us

What we’ve achieved here is a plus

Issues in different culture addressing

Stand up and own our freedom and blessing

The time has changed and we’ve made that happen

Realise and believe our hands clappin’

Well done! Well done! For there is hope

First and foremost we can all cope

Celebrate with a bottle of Chablis

Well done and all the best to you and me*

Salty Sarcasm

Salty Sarcasm — by Aishwarya

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

P.C :- Jason Tuinstra; Unsplash

pepper it with a pinch of salt,
a bit more, too much for comfort,
a bit less, too little for taste,
how am i to know, a constant refrain,
you better do, like dagger’s pointed at you!

Poetry form :- Gogyohka (“Gogyohka usually contains five lines, but could have four or six lines. It’s up to the poet. Each line should comprise one phrase with a line-break after each phrase or breath. Gogyohka has no restraints on the number of words or syllables used”. From Colleen’s Poetry Cheat Sheet)

Note :- The above poem may seem like a cookery lesson, but it isn’t so. Often we end up saying too much or too little, without any care of how the other person’s feelings. And our escape route would be, “How am I to know?”, but that isn’t always so.

Sarcasm

Sarcasm — deep insights from Artie & Stu

artiecamenzind's avatarArtie & Stu

Under humorous guise, words
exploding no subtle conflict
blasting a gaping chasm
between you and I.

Do you remember any
better ways, better play
sharing better days with
no sunsets upon grievances?

An idyllic sarcasm…#haibun #lanturne #senryu

An idyllic sarcasm ….by Jane Aguair

Jane Aguiar's avatarLiterature World

It was an endless and delightful path. When she met him, the path became even more pleasant.

From then till now, shades of purple are spreading across the path adding to their love.

an idyllic path
in the dream of fantasy
she to fairyland

the
form of
contemptuous
fun is sarcasm
Itself

the powerful curse
newspaper got burnt in hand
an experiment

His wit and humor he was proud of
He ridiculed his friends to show off
Together they did join
Paid back in the same coin
He learned the lesson and just backed off

Russian Roulette

Russian Roulette ….by Aboli Mane

Aboli Mane's avatarA Writer In The Room

I do not gamble
no casinos attract me
jackpot or poker
is not my forte

but a game I can play
russian roulette
no gun but a tongue
loaded with sarcasm

a heart to shatter
a mind to wreck
a secret weapon
unholstered; triggered

play a stupid game
to win a stupid prize
perhaps I’ll win your respect
with loaded dice

I do not gamble
that is a lie

Written jointly for SoCS (Stream of Consciousness Saturday) and Reena’s Xploration Challenge #269

The prompt for SoCS was “prize”. While RXC’s prompt was “sarcasm”.

I have been less active on here because I’ve been looking to apply to more writing contests in a bid to give my short stories a chance.

My latest short story, The Shiroyama Ritual was published in a global literary writing contest. The book titled The Selection of a Sacred Strawberry has been released as…

How

How ….by Mich

michnavs's avatarmichnavs

How

how do you stop the moon from giving up his life to the sun so that it could live to shine the world with light?

how do you block the clouds from pouring raindrops onto the land to bring forth new seeds of life?

how do you stall the bees from falling head over heels in love with the scent of the flowers?

how do you end the gentle echo of the bubbling of the brook?

how do you impede the coming of the raging storm?

how do you stop my heart from beating the same beat as yours?

how do you obstruct my sleep from dreaming of you?

how do you make me not need you so desperately?

how do you catch me from falling in love with you?

how, just how?

how?

Sarcasm- a weapon or a crutch?

Sarcasm — a weapon or crutch?

Sadje/ Sadie's avatarKeep it alive

SARCASMis the theme for this weeks prompt.

➰➰➰

Sarcasm

Often the weapon of the weak

Or those who are tired, angry, defeated

Some are cowardly who find refuge behind sarcasm

While others think it’s great that they can get away

With saying things that they can’t say earnestly

Sometimes, it can make a few people laugh

Turn hopelessness into a joke so it’s easy to bear

Choose your words wisely, for once uttered they can’t be taken back

Do onto others what you would like for yourself

I found this quote on another blogger’s site and thought it just perfect for this post!
