Order of the Day
the heart yearns for the
leisurely afternoons of
doing nothing but
thinking about how she tames
her naughty hair when she talks

…and sometimes
the truth rises from it’s grave,
sprouting
like a dead forgotten seed,
watered
by an unexpected divine rain,
and then
it doesn’t just stop there,
for it continues to bloom
into the brightness of the sun,
each petal
completing the untold story,
which for long
had needed to be told.

Unbreakable bone
walled with
collagen and calcium,
ounce for ounce is
stronger than
a bar of steel.
Soft yet complex brain
tangled with
circuits of neurons
and nerves, byte per byte is
better than
a super computer.
Your anatomy is divine.
You’re not a super hero.
You’re a super human.

If I had a super power
It would be to reverse time
I would rewind every hour
to moments I can devour
that-to me would be sublimeI’d go back to a place
to press the reset button
I’d have no need to retrace
or find memories to erase
if I pressed the reset buttonI dream of this super power
Of loved ones long gone
their presence like scented flowers
where time is just ours
when the sun with strength-shone

Lillian at dVerse wants us to think of superpowers /super heroes in a poem.

I’ve known that to suffer is to grow.
Pain manifests itself in so many different ways.
The physical pain we can put our finger on, get treatment and hopefully recover.
Psychological pain is a whole different matter. Often we can’t explain it, it’s more how we feel. Like miserable but once explored, and this is not always an easy matter either, the subject of the pain can be addressed if not cured.
We all go through periods when we feel unwell, out of sorts, just not ourselves. We know so many of us find ways to express that pain, some cut themselves, some withdraw, some shut their minds to whatever it is through drugs and alcohol.
Not everyone gets the opportunity to become ‘enriched’ by it.
I think to become enriched requires us to be aware of what it is in the first place. Understanding and knowing ourselves and being…

I think about you
every time a friend leaves me
painful memories
the pain dissipates in the
bevy of your emotions

Shake the ache I feel
Lengthen the strength of my soul
Pain still stains spirit
Not fault to put salt on wound
Not too much to touch your heart
Now I have my strength
Things are springing brightly
Not blame anyone
Things happened for a reason
Acceptance is a great balm
fallin’
now I am free
free from you and your lies
free from your promises that broke
free from the pain and disappointment, too
it was heaven when we started
things have changed for the worse
now I am free
fallin’

Time is wonderful. It helps us ease our pain, some bad memories and our heartache. They are still there, but as the days pass by, the sensation dulls. It’s nature’s way of dealing with them and let us continue with our day to day activities, without mourning. When my father passed away, it was like the world has…

a cooking pot and twisted tales
Fine. What does it really mean to be fine? Can I truly from the depth of my spirit say that I’m fine? Or is it just a superficial response to ‘how are you,’ so that I don’t make anyone feel discomfited by my true response which I suppose would be ‘heck no, I feel all raggedy and angry a lot lately.’
I wouldn’t even know where to start with my venting but here goes ‘ I’m not fine with the fact that my body does not want to age like fine wine.’ I have deep aches and pains from Fibromyalgia that not only causes discomfort but makes me grumpy a lot of times when the pain flares up.
I’m not fine with the fact that at this juncture in life I’m still struggling hard to get my dream of being an accomplished writer and blogger kick-started.
I’m not
