Reena’s Exploration Challenge #87

Sadje’s take on Exploration Challenge #87

Sadje's avatarKeep it alive

Walking the empty corridors of her memories, she looks ahead

There are shadows around, darkness lurking on the sides

She is determined to face the demons of her past

Her resolve strengthened by her will to purge her dark history

To cut it out of her memory by facing her fears

To her it is the only way that she can move ahead

It needs a lot of courage, a courage that she has borrowed

From her future self, because there is no other way for her

It all came from the realization that only she can help herself

There may be people who are willing to stand with her

But she herself has to be the David who will defeat the Goliath of her fears

Yaadon ke galiyaron mein (In memory lanes) …. Amit Agrawal’s take on Challenge #87

hecblogger's avatarPlaying with words

Avagabond soul travels down dark corridors

seeking to find her purpose in this life

though year after year no answers come and

every so often she stops to look outside the window

to watch the people below on the streets enjoying…

friends, family, lovers…engaging life to the full

with a purpose for living, loving, and being loved…

she is happy for them but can’t help crying inside

wondering why she was never given these blessings

yet…in the depths of her sorrow she finds the

A human engine chugs down the track

Through hallways dim, with flickered light

‘Til destination is in her sight

Finds the station of daily matters

Pays the fees while epithet splatters

Gets her receipt, which ends the show

Time for the next stop, away she goes.

A Matter of Colour

A matter of color …… a brilliant and thought-provoking piece by Len

Taking up Reena’s Exploration Challenge#86
by Reena Saxena. The challenge is to write based on the following phrase ” bleeding edge”. Thanks for the mind prompt Reena.

Professor Geoffrey Random pondered a dilemma. Should he apply for the research money or hide his discovery till he thought the world was ready. He had tried to think through the implications of his discovery and the down side of unexpected consequences of implementing his research. You can plan and plan but the human mind is complex and can deviate from expected norms of behaviour given the right circumstances. He sighed, uncertain of what to do, trying to clear his mind and crystalize his thoughts. He unexpectedly came to his decision. I’ll accept the government grant, proceed with perfecting my research and hang the consequences. My research is bleeding edge and I will not deny humanity it’s chance for change.
