what feels seen
but only in spirit
belies reality
we’re hidden in shade
the silhouette
like phantom pain

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #147 by Reena Saxena
I can’t imagine a world with no color. Color assists us with so many aspects of life. Such as driving and crosswalks. Just to mention a couple important examples. When I say “us” I am not just referring to humans.
Of course, right out of the gate we may think of a group of human that relish Living in simply black and white. These people are often described as Gothic. As far as I know between clothing and make up and such they stick strictly to black and the white being either their skin or make up.
On the other hand I immediately think of how animals use color. Many animals use color with other rituals, so to speak, to choose their mates.
Then there are animals, both predators and prey that use color as a kind of camouflage. Depending…

Reena is the host of Reena’s Exploration Challenge
Welcome back, folks!
It is time for yet another dive into realms of the conscious, sub-conscious and unconscious mind.

Let the prompt take you anywhere – nature, art, fashion, interiors, emotions, perspectives, different aspects of anything, whatever colour means to you or the metaphors which emanate from colour. Interesting photographs, or works of art are also welcome.
I eagerly await your brilliant black and white entries
~*~
Is everything black and white?
Clear demarcation between right and wrong
Some just see things as with only two possibilities
No gray areas in between to appease the doubtful
When I was a young adult I thought in monochrome too
It was either white or black with no hues in between
But life has taught me differently
It has taught me that many a shade exists between the two extremes
Embrace the possibilities…

Vision Care ….. by Len

Things generally happen in three’s, as Marty was soon to find out.
The first thing that happened was Marty lost his job. He didn’t necessarily care about the job but he did care about the loss of income. Employment Insurance barely covered his rent and he still had to eat, pay his telephone bill and finance all the mundane activities needed to survive in this currency driven world. As time went on, pounding the streets looking for work, he became increasingly depressed as life lost all meaning and color. Then the headaches started, his eyes hurt and his vision became increasingly unstable.
The second thing that happened was Marty’s visit to the optician. After careful examination, questioning and serious looks the optician broke the new that Marty had advanced glaucoma. There was severe pressure build up in the eye…

Mother Earth Laments …… by Radhika
Lucas Pezeta@Pexels
For eons I lived as a spirited soul
nourishing and nurturing all
under my benevolent grace.
My vibrant persona, sparkled with
an eclectic mix of wild, free strokes
painted my canvas with a rich hue.
I danced in sublime ecstasy, as
floral scented zephyr hummed ditties,
life orchestrated a rhythmic euphony.
Until man came along,
With his bag of never ending desires
he progressed well initially, respecting me
before greed overpowered his wisdom.
He robbed colors from my palette
shrouding me in a smoky grey
casting me in a colorless attire.
His plunders continue unabated
inflicting painful scars
oblivious to my silent tears.
My womb swells with his toxic influx
Isn’t it only a matter of time
before it becomes malignant?
Haiku – Colorless world ….. by Goutam Dutta
Occasionally,
Moon casts its shadow on sun.
Eclipse of colours.
