A Splash of Love #writephoto

A splash of love …. by Jude

judeitakali's avatarTales Told Different

He does not love, he hates,
Injustice, indifference, immorality.
Guilt dogs his every step.
Sorrow for what has been done,
And what is yet to come.
The beauty around,
discoloured by bitterness within.
His righteous soul cries out in distress,
As he blurs between the lines of love and hate
If love is timeless, is hate the same?

She does not hate, she loves,
Nature, laughter, Affection.
Predators lurk around her every turn
But her eyes are blind
To the evils of this world
Its gray shadowed threats,
disguised in coloured hues of beauty
As she toes that fickle line
Between danger and safety

Two people so different,
and yet fundamentally the same.
His cautious shades of gray,
Tinged deep with fervour and passion.
Her rainbow of bliss and beauty,
Splashing fantasy onto reality.

Imagine them together,
Dream up their world,
A home besides gray waters,
Of solid…

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #147 — “the earth was without form, and void”

The earth was without form or void …… by Jade Li/Lisa

When I think of a colorless world, I think of The Bible verse from Genesis that says, “and the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep.”

In most (all?) religions there is a creationist story. Once there was one, an indistinguishable void that became more. This’es and That’s turned into “ten thousand things” aka all-that-is. We all spring from this mysterious source, and we all return to it, in infinite recyclings. Now that all-that-is has become, there is no going back to the void.

I don’t see the void as nothing or sterile but more of a primordial soup of undifferentiated, unmanifested comsmoplasm.

What brings non-being into being? Nobody knows for sure, but it is why she is called the Mysterious Mother.

Absence

Absence …… by Punam

paeansunplugged's avatarpaeansunpluggedblog

Days washed pale in lowlight sun

Nights grown wan with ashen moon

Disembodied voices echoing hollowly

Faint smiles fading gradually

Life bleached of all emotions

Days moving in slow motion

Feelings all in grey monochrome

My heart feels it is without a home

Insipid food, bland and tasteless

Soulless music flatlines dully

Your absence always leaves me

In a world bereft of all colours.

Colourless Expressions

Colourless Expressions ….. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

Consciousness commands
a shift of focus
tired of the clash of colours
stimulation overload
my muse is leaning towards
the nuance of black and white

A study of shadows
and shading
and how light
arouses the soul

Speak to me in subtleties
she whispers
in tones suggestive
of hidden depths
I am listening

And so I submerge myself
clear the palette of vibrant hues
and take up the lowly pencil
seek the promise
in a colourless world.

(For Reena’s Exploration challenge:  a colourless world.  Sketch my own.)

Colours

Colors …. by Aishwarya

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

If not for colours,

Red roses exchanged on Valentine’s Day,

Lose their promise of love,

If not for colours,

Colourful bands exchanged on Friendship Day,

Lose their promise of solidarity,

If not for colours,

Lively crackers lighting up the sky on Deepavali*,

Lose their promise of triumph.

Colours of cheer, blossom,

Colours of gloom, negate,

Colours of gratitude, prosper,

Colours of envy, curb,

Colours of innocence, multiply,

Colours of greed, dissipate.

While various vibrant hues,

Unite together,

To welcome a single streak of white,

Carpet of darkness,

Graciously descends,

To let other colours shine.

Into paleness I’d disappear,

If not for colours,

Darkness calmly awaits,

To embrace with open arms,

Paves way,

Shine and glow.

Without

Without ….. by Susi Bocks

Susi Bocks's avatarI Write Her

in a world not gifted with…

a photographer’s keen eye
a musician’s in tune rhythm
a sculpture’s deft hands
a poet’s thoughtful expression
a singer’s thrilling voice
a dancer’s grace in movement
a writer’s crafty imagination
an actor’s heartfelt emotion
an artist’s painted or drawn strokes of genius

you’d be a witness to its blandness
and we’d all be less for it
