Time ….. by Punam
Time, you flutter your sixty wings
robbing me of well deserved winks
Everyday when dawn strides towards dusk
I can feel your manner so brusque
Proud thou art of your stranglehold
causing chaos and ruckus untold
If only you could slow down sometimes
I would write you endless rhymes
Wresting with you fills me with grief
crumpled lie my dreams so brief
This is not vitriol but genuine complain
pushing me to the limits, what do you gain
Threatening me with deadlines and clocks
filling me with the dread of always pulling up my socks
Maybe you have your reasons for not waiting for anyone
but I am too naive to understand your constant run
Don’t throw tantrums in a fit of pique
could I possibly have foresight at least
Remember one day I will be free of your shackles
too far gone to be bothered by your cackles!

What is Time …… by Ramya Tantry
And Miles to go before I sleep...

What is time? Is it something that one person has more and others have less? Is it something that is good or bad? Is it something that runs faster for one and slows down for another? Is it something that makes us forgive and forget or something that makes us strong and bolder?
The fact is, we change the definition of time as per our convenience. When we face a bad experience, we say bad time is going on. Similarly for good things happening in life, it’s a good time. We say that time is a healer, healing us of the old wounds making one stronger. We regret it when we waste time and then we wish for more. Older people think that time is moving at a faster pace.
But what is the fault of time? It just exists and doesn’t wait for anyone. It…

Time …. by Michael

You’ve all the time you need
No I don’t.
Yes you do,
Its not infinite you know, there’s only so much allotted to me.
Then don’t waste it, use it wisely
I keep telling myself that as I sit and ponder,
You ponder far too much
Its what I’m good at.
You’ve strengths, you know you have
But is that enough
Depends on what you want to achieve
I don’t know that I want to achieve anything but simply exist
Then do that but to the best of your ability.
Sometimes its just words, random words,
That’s all we can do, and hope they mean something.
I think it’s about feeling good within
Of course, and time will tell you if you are successful.
I want that as much as anything else,
A goal, you have a goal, for forth young man.
Use my time productively,
Yes indeed.

Saving …. by Aishwarya
Those laughs saved for later,
Suppressing asinine moments of glee,
Those minutes of time stored in unseen jars,
Living someplace other than present,
Saving proliferates,
When this life is lived through all its colours,
Those experiences of opportunities denied,
Waiting for a better one,
Those finesse of teachings lost,
Tarrying knowledge’s entry,
Someday life’s chord cuts,
Sans any intimation,
Sans any intuition,
Would lingering then save the day?
Would our lifeline care for deadlines ?

Thoughts :- Life is lived through all its colours, ups and downs. We can neither save our ups lifelong, neither can we halt our downs. Each moment, each day.
Acknowledgements :- Thank you Reena Saxena for running the Reena’s Exploration Challenge. The theme for this week was deadlines. Thank you Sammi Cox for running the Weekend Writing Prompt Challenge. The word for the week is asinine, which means silly and word limit is…

Horror ….. by Indira

ghosts and witches
their means of scaring us
seem like child’s play
when we compare them
to the horror created by
mafias
their power
their impudence
their hold over systems
their confidence that they are above the law
that they can get
away after any crime
common people
terrified
terrorized
running from door to door
for justice
will they get any
or…well, why lose hope
one day truth may come out
Dead are Unimpressed …. by VJ Knutson
A cruel master
the ticking clock
So much potential
Get it done!
I rush past shadows
crumple the pages
failed attempts
mounting
What of dreams?
Of life’s destiny?
How I worship
at the altar of should
Even with positivity
fantastical notions fall short
I argue against uncertainty
meet only disapproval
There is no magic
no pre-destined fame
just dust gathering
the dead are unimpressed.

Time Blanket ….. by s.s.

Time’s precision pendulum swings
lulling me into surrender
sweeping silly senses under
quilted blankets of beguiling
delusions of imaginings
cozily wrapped up in rainbows
warping Time through a window
into, over, future and pasts
stalling, staying, scuttling fast
TickTockTickTock. What’s fast? What’s slow?

Meeting the Deadline …. by Ramya Vivek

He laid awake and said the name into the night.
He has been repeatedly doing it for the past few nights.
When she asked if he’ll take her out, he said deadline is on my head and I can’t.
When she asked if he could accompany her for the regular check up, he had the reason of the deadline.
When she requested him to make it a movie night with her, ‘Don’t you know I have a deadline’, pat came the reply.
When she was gazing the stars all alone, he was there furiously typing away, trying to beat the deadline.
Now, after waiting for long, when she was suddenly gone, he finally felt his heart missing a beat.
In his quest to meet the deadline, he unknowingly ignored her needs and love, but her life had a deadline too, which he forgot to meet.
Her presence taken for granted…

Deadline …. by Sadje

~*~*~
Tick tock runs the clock
We spend our lives rushing through the maze that’s life
Hurry, hurry, times-a-wasting
The clicks, the beeps, tapping and buzzing
All reminding us that time is passing
Don’t get caught in a downward spiral
It will drag you deep into the rabbit hole
Break the chains that confine you, binds your life
