Being Singular

Being singular …… by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

The Liar Paradox is an argument that arrives at a contradiction by reasoning about a Liar Sentence, which becomes an exhausting exercise to determine truth. For instance, if I say, “Everything that I say is a lie” and if I am actually telling the truth, then I can’t be lying. If I am lying when I say this, then I just told the truth, so this becomes an exercise in futility.

In mathematics, a singularity is in general a point at which a given mathematical object is not defined, or a point where the mathematical object ceases to be well-behaved in some particular way, such as the lack of differentiability or analyticity.  According to science, a singularity is a point of infinite density and infinitesimal volume, at which space and time become infinitely distorted according to the theory of General Relativity.  The big bang theory states that a gravitational singularity existed at the beginning of the universe.  The technological…

magnetic ~ a decima

Magnetic – a decima …… by s.s.

s.s.'s avatarMindfills

Considering we’re poles apart

and yet together we’re great,

Why do opposites attract fate?

Definitely doesn’t seem smart

especially at every  start

squishing tightly, one negative

with one exultant positive

But somehow magnetic charm

amalgamates flower and thorn

And therefore in oneness we live

Nature’s Spirit lines

Nature’s spirit lines ….. by judeitakali

judeitakali's avatarTales Told Different

She calls!
A sigh upon the monsoon
A whisper, chiming through vast Savannah plains
And a soothing breeze, gliding on rumours of winter

Where I am
There, the ley-lines meet
Paradise

Come find me, she coos and coxes
A mother, dangling a reward for an eager child.
Plot the ancient lines of old
Slide the angles on the map
And protract your soul into the ether
Call to me, as I call to you.

Where it all began
You cannot fully recall
You can only feel
When life’s mystic lines unite
And love intersects with peace

The math of marriage

The Math of Marriage ….. by Punam

paeansunplugged's avatarpaeansunpluggedblog

We were two points
journeying in linear lines
our planes intersected
changing the course of direction!

Though the plan was to run parallel happily
life keeps changing shapes and relative distance
so now, sometimes we run in concentric circles
at others we are diametrically opposite!

We have run the entire gamut from being right angled to obtuse
encompassing various degrees of latitude
thankfully, we have struck balance and now
we exist peacefully venn diagrammed!

The Patterns- #Reena’s Exploration Challenge

The Patterns …. by cozyquietcorner

Priya's avatarCozy Quiet Corner

Leaning patterns in symmetry
A display of arranged beauty,
These half circles and tall scale
Do build our world in detail
As I look at the lines squared
I find my senses ensnared,
Leaning patterns in symmetry
A display of arranged beauty.

Reena is the host of Reena’s Exploration Challenge– The prompt #157 is the above picture.

The Octelle is a poem consisting of eight lines. The syllable count structure for this verse is 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, and the rhyme scheme is aa/bb/cc/aa. The first two lines and the last two lines are identical.

Heart Math

Heart Math ….. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

One (me) plus one (you)
equals two (a couple)

So why is it that division
makes me feel less than whole

And subtraction (we minus you)
renders me an integer

And how, in this state of sub zero
do I solve for y?

Life – Angles and Lines

Life-Angles and Lines …… by Ramya Tantry

Ramya Tantry's avatarAnd Miles to go before I sleep...

aa

Life is all about going from point A to point B. But the path is never a straight line.
We meet some people who are like parallel lines – Close but not close enough.
And with people comes different thinking angles – so many perspectives or confusions.
We often feel that life was easier when lines and angles existed only in our Maths books.
Now these lines and angles help us in the way of our life, making us ready for next point in our life.

I’m the architect!

I’m the architect ….
By Happy Soul

HappySoul's avatarLive Love Laugh Learn

Seeing a situation, from all angles, mind on a rampage

Different line of thoughts together, put me in a cage

My compulsive behaviour, tend to push me behind

I have learnt and I know now, where to draw the line

My confidence, my intellect, are my intangible asset

I design, I decide, This is my life n i’m its architect!

My dreams are not bound, they seek the infinite

My theories, my equations, I decide the right hand side

Even if life takes a full circle and I’m back to square one

It’s not easy to corner me, for I have learnt, and so, I have won!
