Enigma

Enigma ….. by Aishwarya

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

Down the pondering lane, I seem to have lost count of time. Time seems to be cloaked in mystery. A perception of having too much or at times, craving for some more.

Enigmas can’t be bottled. They seem to shriek away into obscurity, just like the wild touch me- not plants, which happily grows in abundance, but shies away when captured.

Time and Death seem like illusions until they unite and descend. That space, which is beyond anyone’s reach. That singularity, once lost, lost forever. Into oneness.

Colours of water,

What my eyes perceive to be,

Would water care much?

100 words.

Don’t miss this brilliance by tiredhamster. It takes you to many world’s.

Imagine this: a sheet of paper
Stretching flat for miles and miles,
For years and years, until
A necessary distortion, a tiny
Scratch with no real owner.
A slight ripple comes, but flatness
Quickly returns, not seeing
The light burp of particulates
Spreading. Years and years,
Miles and miles, the particulates
Escape from the scratch
And tumble among themselves
Until heavy things start to form.
The heavy things are too heavy
For the paper, and start bending
Flatness until gravity and dimensionality
Occur. The flatness is gone.
The paper becomes a misformed
Space. That’s how I often see it.

We believe in the peace
Before the great occurrence,
But it wasn’t even peace.
This complexity is just the face
Of a dying system, you might say,
It will never be whole, never be
Flat again, but this is just another
Feeling that humans have.
We’re not big fans of the…

My novel outline

My novel outline ….. by bilocalalia

bilocalalia - talking about living in two places's avatar....Bilocalalia....

It’s an old-fashioned phone cord
swallowing lines of communication,
tangled around its own folds,
self-consuming like an ouroboros.

It’s a fragile gold chain hopelessly
jumbled, knotted, only to be freed
with a needle and plenty of patience.

It’s an abysmal Cretan labyrinth,
a Fibonacci spiral, Burano lace.

It’s a Gordian knot calling for a knife.

Don’t worry, I’m only joking. I don’t have an outline for my novel. I approach NaNoWriMo like an adventurer without a map. As my mom would often say, “This is nice. We’ve never been lost here before!”

The Great Pumpkin

The Great Pumpkin ….by Eugenia

hushed was the rumor

the dark of night shaken, and

patch dwellers aghast.

the Great Pumpkin rose

to the delight of children

pumpkiny deeds carried forth.

yet the awe assaulted by

air with a singular chill

A magical moment only for

those who believe

SINGULARITY

The Saturday Symphony #16 (Fairytale edits)

PONDEROUS THOUGHTFAIRYTALE EDITS

Though, the Great Pumpkin, an unseen character in the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz, is not a typical fairytale, I thought the enchanting tale to be a fun subject for my poem and in keeping with the season.

The prompt, PONDEROUS THOUGHTFAIRYTALE EDITS, hosted by Jude at tales told different, is to change the fate of the fairytale, which is reflected in my poem.

Plus, here is the link to a post about pumpkins that I wrote in 2015 – My Pumpkin.

#283. THE WAR HAS BEGUN- A Flash Fiction

The War has Begun …..by Ramya Vivek

Ramya Vivek's avatarMy Musings

There’s a planet at the edge of the universe not unlike the earth in landscape and atmosphere. But its inhabitants are not.

The similarity unfortunately ends with just the landscape, the inhabitants there are far more truthful and innocent than the Earthians. Even the wind and sea obeyed their leader, whose sole purpose in life was to uplift the occupants of their planet ‘Pious’ and to never let the Earthians curtail their innocence.

He knows that the Earthians were already on a mission to capture their planet. They were in awe of the nil crime rate and the non-polluted environment of the ‘Pious’. The leader knows this, for he has witnessed the origin of the Earth and knows how it exactly resembled ‘Pious‘ then.

But, now the Earthians are full of jealous without an iota of compassion towards fellow humans, let alone other inhabitants. Together, they have…

Welcome back!

PROMPT #158

The word that caught my imagination while surfing the net was

Singularity

~*~*~

I am me

But I am you too

We are similar but not the same

Yet the same blood runs through our veins

The joys and sorrows, the highs and the lows

We all experience these emotions in our own way

We have the same beginnings and would end in the same way

But in between, we diversify like colors of the spectrum

Which join together to form one brilliant white light

I am me, but I am you too

Boutique; #SixSentenceStory

D. Avery @shiftnshake's avatarShiftnShake

What-You-Seek Boutique by D. Avery

Her mood overcast and as unsettled as the weather, she ventured in, smiling at the sign in spite of herself, wondering how she’d not noticed the little boutique before with it’s two bay windows either side of the door, each sparkling with kitschy knickknacks and tchotchke.

She drifted among the crowded aisles until stopping short at a shelf where she found, carefully arranged in chronological order, all of her pain; she picked up the most recent, turned it over in her hands and examined it, and as she did, the shelf was rearranged by category, the full collection of all her losses before her, some, despite being older, still more acute than the one she now held. She gathered the losses all up at once and wondered at the weight of them, then carefully put each loss back down on the shelf, now espying other…
