Reena’s Xploration Challenge #238 – puppet on a string

Puppet on a string …. by Lady Lee

ladyleemanila's avatarLadyleemanila

Like a puppet on a string

I do what I was told to do

Gracefully asprawl on cue

I dance, fight or even sing

Can’t leave for I have no wing

Feeling I just have to go through

Like a puppet on a string

I do what I was told to do

One day I promise to fling

Free from all this I flew

Just be me hope that’s true

See what the future can bring

Like a puppet on a string*

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #238- Freedom of Speech

Freedom of Speech …. by Indira

Prompt #238

We have a picture prompt this week.

Freedom of Speech? What’s That

I can’t smile and dance

or even put on a mask

Keeping one’s cool

becoming arduous task

I’m not a puppet

attached to strings

whom puppeteer can command

to dance to his tune

I’m perturbed

by what’s going around

You may be beheaded

by calling

a spade a spade

even if instigated by

a loathsome tirade

Photo Challenge #421

pensitivity101's avatarpensitivity101

Sarah is our hostess for the MLMM Tuesday Photo Challenge. You can join in here
My image has no softness,
All angles and sharp lines,
No curves.
I could be smiling,
Or maybe puckering up for a kiss,
But my lips are hard and uninviting.
I was an idea,
A vision, a prototype,
But I represent nothing,
Not even a paper company
Or school of origami.
I am just here,
A face without a name or purpose,
A novelty for someone to photograph.

The waiting game.

We don’t need strings to move. That’s our secret.

We are watching you, watching you, watching you

from the back of the shop. Bundled together in a circle,

Waiting, waiting, waiting

for you

to make the mistake

of thinking

we are not here.

From The Eyes of Another

From the eyes of another …. by Michelle Navajas

From The Eyes of Another

i’ve learned the ways of the world in many different manners from different people.

from the eyes of a friendly neighborhood baker
who views life like a bread
that it isn’t just a food but a symbol and metaphor of a bigger journey through life
the best ones we keep the rest we just take a bite and let it go.

from the soul of an old town family physician who is a great listener and emphatic to the concerns of his patients
he is not condescending nor arrogant and treat patients as he wanted to be treated
most importantly he does his job with joy and gratitude
as we should always be in life.

from the magic tricks of a joyous party clown who makes every little kid hope for the best
that even things that are impossible may be possible actually
that things…

Road Trip: Compilation 07/07/2022

Road trip … by Christine Bialczak

Stine Writing and Miniatures's avatarStine Writing

On a green verdant hill in the vast countryside
a presidential vehicle, driving fast, slowed its ride
Responsibility from aides shouted, “go by fast”
but in exercising the law this man screamed out at last
the man shouted, “no!” and said that he wanted to see
what was in a dark hole in a big, old oak tree.
He knew he should waiver or lest he be drawn
into the brambles that spread all around on the lawn.
a twig poked out, then it snapped with a crack
but in his dark mind, the twig pursued fighting back.
He quickly raised an arm to safely shield his dark face
surveying all the land to find a quick hiding place.
He turned to his right and saw a clown standing by
Horror filled his whole face and let out a strange cry
Running away towards the cars open door, he ran…

Look at all the puppets
hanging there
Presidents, Queens, and Kings
dangling in mid-air

Past this gruesome spectacle
of political debauchery
Look for specter’s in Congress
and Supreme Court botchery

Each and every elected official
those sworn to protect us and serve
Personal agenda’s they all carry
Their sworn oaths no longer observed

These cords only we can sever
No more control by gun fanatics,
oil mongers and pharmaceuticals
Need to replace all these phenetic’s

RXC # 238; We have a picture prompt this week.

➰➰➰

Free thinking is not something we encourage here

We would like very much for you to follow our directions

It’s not that we are holding your strings in our hands

It’s just that acting on your impulses is not safe for you

Just surrender your will to us and we’ll look after you

We will make sure the life you live is free of inspiration

Devoid of highs and lows

Just a comfortable life of dull monotony

That will keep you cocooned in a false sense of security

You are not puppets, just biddable citizens
