The “Crimsons” had built their civilization on a yet to be mapped chain of tropical islands and it had thrived for more than 4 centuries.
Their relative isolation from the rest of the planet produced their most striking physical trait for although their skin tones varied, their hair was universally undeniably flaming red.
As legends evolve from partial truths, they had come to recently attribute their happiness and success more or less directly to this part of their appearance and now that once infrequent explorers happened upon them and had given them their current superficial name, they were embracing it more and more.
They were, by all standards, happily and productively ‘primitive’. Their children were raised by small community ‘parental pods’ each of which shared an identical cultural pride and common ‘spirit’ but this was incrementally starting to include a subtext of…

Opposite me, with a haunted expression, she opened her suitcase.

All I could think of was ”poor Yorick”, I knew that person very well. It didn’t look like she caught the joke, and just stood there, silently, making my gaze drift to the skull’s evil smirk.

‘Can I help you?’ Finally, I found my voice.

‘More to the point, can I help you?’ She spoke with an edge to her tone. ‘I’m here to warn you, change your ways. Listen to your inner voice and be the better person. Your task, should you choose to ignore it, will be leaving you without purpose.’

I looked around the corner, wondering if my little brother was playing a joke on me – his pranks were getting out of hand. I wasn’t convinced by the skull, plastic, more than bone, he had some weird friends of late.

I had always imagined the devil to be a crafty man, but I was mistaken. Now looking at this alluring woman I can see why so many people fall off the straight and the narrow.

With an inviting half-smile on her face, carelessly holding the bones of her victims in her wooden box, she is deceptively calm. Come here, her glance says, there’s nothing to be afraid of.

Who would resist her invitation?

Only those with eyes wide open, and a heart entrenched in innocence can resist the allure of the she-devil. You too be careful of her well-concealed traps and look deep behind that deceptive mask and be very aware!

They voted for the politico

For he promised to scrap corruption

But once in total power

Amnesiac, he becomes

Now his second name is corruption

Dog Eats Dog

there’s no such thing as evil or good
in the outlandish world of tragic politics
you could start with all the good in your heart
but pressure to be part of the game will start
the minute you takes oath and swear to be of service.

for its a “dog eats dog” crazy game
you gonna play it well in order to survive
if you play the hero you will be the villain
in the eye of your colleagues who’ve been
on the game way before you came.

is there a way to end this cycle?
you may probably wonder
i too wondered for years and years
i even went on out of the streets
for a call for change and unity.

little did i know i waisted my youth
joining a cause that never was meant
to see the new light onced promised
the ideologies endocrinated…

Nothing Ever Stays

Nothing much to log in the records

Have not gained anything

Nor lost what was mine

Realisation has seeped in

Through countless cracks

Left by wilting roots of hope

That nothing ever stays

Not even in the fist of your palm

Though the churning won’t stop too soon

Pain pleasure and joy mixed in a goo

Fermented over time

It’s foul vapours reaching

Every crevice of the mind

One again enlightening in a bright flash

It’s time to empty and clean oneself

For no one or nothing ever stays

And even if they stay

Will almost always turn foul

Politics has become a dirty word in most cultures

Being a politico stands mostly for having double standards

Saying something, meaning something else, and doing something else

That is how the world at large views politicians

An honest politician has become a phrase oxymoron in nature

How wonderful it would be to have a politico with principal and convictions

Those upon whom we could always rely on to do what’s right

Those that would be the true heroes saving our democracy and nation!

every year, the same spiels
the politico aiming for celestial status
trying to come off better than the opponents
while smearing the other for their lead
showing support for those they disdain
those they allegedly will stand for
knowing they can’t win without them
vilely begging for votes
and trading favors for money
the ill-gotten gains
mean more to them than actual representation

will it ever change?
