BUBBLE- Reena’s Xploration Challenge #261

Bubble …. by Indira

Indira's avatarSharing Thoughts

It is a theme prompt. The lines to ponder are

The best and the worst

It’s time…

for the bubble to burst

we all love to live in our own bubble
bubble means our comfort zone
sheltered from
worries
problems
living
with people
who think alike
but
whenever
we settle deep in our comfort zone
God says:
for the bed or worst
it’s time
for the bubble to burst
we seek another bubble to make our
comfort zone
again
the bubble
burst
lifelong is this process of
build and destroy

A Present For Raj

A present for Raj ….. By Aboli Mane

Aboli Mane's avatarA Writer In The Room

Raj’s legs dangled off the window sill. He wasn’t supposed to do that but the youngster had a rebellious streak that got off on disobeying his parents. When he thought hard, his legs would swing involuntarily and right now they were hard at work. The afternoon sunlight washed over him as he basked in its warmth.

“Bhaiya*!!” Sumi’s plaintive cry crashed against his ears. Raj turned to glimpse the pig-tailed six-year old eclipsed by his shadow. “I’m telling your Maa!” She screeched. “No! Wait!” Given half a chance Sumi would tattle to any grown up. The girl took a devilish delight in watching her cousin Raj and brother Amit get scolded by their parents for their misbehaviour.

“Sumi! Listen I have a secret for you.” “What?” Sumi’s brown eyes shone like sticky molasses in light that poured into the children’s room.

“You’ve to promise not to tell any grown up.”…

Keep It Alive, Interview with Challenge Hostess, Sadje

Marsha Ingrao interviews our friend Sadje …

Marsha's avatarMarsha Ingrao Always Write

I met Sadje when she started participating in my challenge, Writer’s Quotes Wednesday Writing Challenge #3 published two years ago almost to the day. She linked a beautiful poem and combined my challenge with two others, Write Photo, which Sue Vincent hosted before she passed, and now is hosted by another blogging friend, K.L. Caley at New2Writing, and Rag Tag Daily Prompt (RDP), hosted by Brian at Bushboy’s World.

I think you taught me to double dip, Sadje, and all my readers know how I love to include several challenges in each post. One thing, I noticed is that you had a ton of visitors before I ever saw the post. As a new challenge hostess, I felt kind of bad that I was so late to visit your post until I found out that you posted it for other challenges too.

As time went on, I started…

Reena’s Exploration Challenge

I am keeping it simple this week with a picture prompt.

Mary Shelley - Literary Witches

The prospect of death didn’t frighten him. He knew his family would grieve, but he’d be dead so he wouldn’t know or, by that time, care. Dead was dead. Period. None of that idioticcoming back as a bug if you hadn’t lived your life right; thought what was meant by ‘right’ was a question in itself. No angels blowing the trumpets with Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates, pointing either up or down.

How could he? There was no heaven and no hell. No monster wreaking havoc upon a fellow for the rest of eternity.

Dead. Was. Dead. Period.

His mother was dead. His father. Aunts and uncles, maybe some nieces or nephews. Come to think of it, there wouldn’t be anyone to grieve him anyway.

resurrection of a new man

Resurrection of.a new man…. By Audrine Maxden

Audrine Max's avatarAwakening Imagination

the world is nothing but
a reflection of my self concept
this has always been
a slap in the face
never fails to burst my bubble
as within, so without
my environment is
a mirror of my conciousness
good and evil, the best and the worst
all are my creation,
stemming from the dangers of
an undiscisplined mind
products of my misjudgments,
rage, and resentments,
oh dear mischievous anger
justifying my victimhood
arise my child,
align with your ideals
so then i move
and raise the podium
of who I am
carrying in me the concepts
of vigor, power, and might
leaning towards a more-
expansive, fruitful
view of the world
awareness reminds me
to shepherd my herd
for thoughts are sheep
that needs to be tended
a wise psychological step
towards a better mental state
making this the new
natural dwelling place
death to the old consciousness
i walk…

It’s time…

Every morning- new beginning,

The skyline is set ablaze,

More papers and napkins crumpling,

My eyes in boredom glaze.

.

The skyline is set ablaze,

Peering at the pile of work to do,

My eyes in boredom glaze.

‘Straighten up!’ so much to do!

.

Peering at the pile of work to do,

A wave of sadness suddenly comes,

‘Straighten up!’ so much to do!

I realise the cycle returns.

.

A wave of sadness suddenly comes,

Eyes turn misty and red,

I realise the cycle returns.

‘You will get better’, I wrote and said.

.

Eyes turn misty and red,

Wrinkling to keep the pain away,

‘You will get better’, I wrote and said,

I begin to write- the little magic left.

The best and the worst

It’s time…

for the bubble to burst

In the early nineties, I worked in accounting with a very tech-savvy guy. Even though it wasn’t his responsibility, the company had a separate department to troubleshoot software problems, and he gladly assisted any who asked for his help. The LAN department manager who managed computer operations was grateful for his help, except for the day when he inadvertently screwed something up, and the manager went running to the VP to complain that he should not be involved in fixing computer problems because it was not his job. As the tech-savvy guy reported to me, the VP called me into his office to explain what was going on. I relayed his history of helping other staff because of his tech knowledge and concluded with ” he does fifty things right and is…

It’s time…

➰➰➰

Life is both good and bad

The best and worst in tandem

Not always a fairytale

Not a Shakespearean tragedy

Ups and downs vying with each other

Happiness and joy can be the flavor of the day

Sadness and disappointment for another

No one can avoid the rigors of emotions

The bubble bursts so early in life!
