Color your World …. by Jim Adams

Color makes objects easier to see and it separates painting from drawing, bringing life and vibrancy to paintings and sketches. Every color creates different emotions and feelings, and certain colors are associated with specific feelings like warmth and others with being cool. Colors close to the red spectrum are warmer colors, and they include red, orange, and yellow. These warm colors evoke emotions ranging from warmth, comfort, optimism and energy to feelings that signal danger or make you feel angry and hostile. They can evoke higher arousal emotions, such as love, passion, happiness, and excitement. Whereas blue colors like purple and green are inked to calmness, sadness, indifference, relaxing, soothing and healing. These reactions are rooted in psychological effects, biological conditioning and cultural imprinting. Color is a fundamental physical property of light that humans perceive differently dependent on the individual person.

RANDOM DREAMS

So, which is the prompt? The words or the image?
It’s your choice. Choose one or both to take you to a different world.
There is no restriction on format of the piece. There is no last date either, unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

It felt like a bolt of lightning!
Griffin sat straight up in bed with a shiver.
Had he always dreamt in color?
“What difference does that make you stupid fool. It was just a random dream.”
It was amazingly vivid. But spattered paintbrushes in a rainbow of colors are all I can recall of it. It must have been the result of that spicy midnight snack. Lesson learned.
It was only a few minutes before his alarm would go off, so Griffin Prime jumped out of bed and readied himself for work.
His morning energy felt electric…

Lanterns …. a Sijo by Sangeetha

Lanterns, ferrying wishes between worlds, bob in navy blue skies
Truth uncovers a new way out; hope recovers in new sunlight
Dawn speaks shyly to Midnight; there is no end to beginnings
Mindfills for Ronovan Writes Sijo ~ recover; Reena’s exploration challenge ~ The best and the worst…It’s time for the bubble to burst.
The revolt against Mahsa Amini’s death in Iran started in September this year and is still going strong.
On December 20, the Taliban imposed a ban on higher education for women in Afghanistan. Protests are on, and I wish it doesn’t stop.
Wherever there is war, we hear about women being raped, and that includes Ukraine in Europe. This is disheartening since the best places to be a woman are in Europe (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland) and Canada.
WHAT LIES AT THE ROOT?
I wonder why women’s independence makes powerful men feel insecure. Why do they feel threatened by a free society where everyone has equal rights and opportunities?
Is it guilt and the consequent fear of revenge?
Do they see women as a possession, which will be usurped by their rivals and enemies?
Whenever a crime against a woman happens, I see her being blamed for crossing boundary…

Power of love ..by Jane Aguiar

Love
can be
the best and
worst part of life.
Love has the power to either settle life
Or lead you down the road to hell with love.
It’s time to change,
the law of
nature
is
change.
Secrets

Then somewhere along the way, something changes. The story gets more difficult. It takes longer to finish a chapter or even a page.
And then suddenly you’re in the middle of the book and you’re stuck. Before you know it, it’s been weeks or even months since you’ve written a word.
Your project dangles dangerously on the precipice of the giant wasteland known as “unfinished manuscripts.”
You must not allow this to happen! If you do, you become one of those writers who don’t finish their projects. We never hear about them.” Keep on even if you think it’s the worst thing ever written. You can always edit. You can’t fix a blank page.

The Way we Were …. By The Blighters Rock.
such is the curse,
to remember every word
from each light smile,
or scolding too from scornful lips,
the scratching regret
of that left unsaid
cut too as memory,
as do the oft retold stories
behind old faded photographs
burn tears from eyes
that long to forget them.
