they say is peace
tonight your kiss;
i tasted, and i thought

what would i need to do
to keep your kiss forever?

heaven
they say is joy
tonight your embrace;
i felt, and i wondered

how much longer
can i hold you in my arms?

heaven
they say is utopia
tonight your love;
i welcomed, and i pondered

how much would it cost
to have your love always?

IV.

tonight
i write this letter
to you my love;
sealed, and i marveled

will heaven hear my plea
to have you ’till eternity?

Hidden in the Everyday

Unexpected, unexplained

At my doorstep, pouring rain

As I hold it, rack my brain

But the effort’s all in vain

My mind’s a kettle, building pressure

Curiosity gets the better

As I unseal this wax-stamped letter

Hidden message escapes, unfettered

Into eagerly awaiting hands

Eyebrows leap, bewilderment expands

For this letter tells of far-off lands

In the heads of strangers, and of friends

Innumerable worlds, tucked away

Inside people you’ve passed by today

Unknowingly filling gaps your way

While universes spread before you, unsurveyed

Sealed away words, guards the secret,
Curiosity stirs, anticipation grows,
Unbroken seal, mystery awaits,
Unlock the envelope, let the secrets unfurl,
Let the Pandora’s box of tales, capture the world.

My inquisitiveness is pushing me to take a peek

The prudence wants to step back and let it be

Life is like a sealed envelope for us in the beginning

Revealing its secrets to us gradually, one at a time

But sometimes the envelope remains sealed till the very end

And it’s only when we are done with most of our living

That the secret of what life is all about is unveiled to us

A sealed envelope though tempting/ inviting us to open

Can very be like Pandora’s box, that, once opened

Spills out things that we wished were still hidden!

Not that long ago and not in a galaxy far, far away, people here on Earth actually wrote letters to each other, so they could communicate over long distance.  This happened after writing was developed, but before the telegraph, or the telephone, or email was a thing.  Writing letters was how people stayed in touch.  People had to wait for weeks or even months for a letter to get from one part of the world to another.  If the letter was sent general delivery, then the post office would hold the mail until the recipient called for it.  In order to preserve the confidentiality of documents and confirm that they had been indeed written by the sender, letters were sealed with wax and stamped, which began in the Middle Ages.  At first, these sealed and stamped letters were the exclusive purview of monarchs, bishops, and royal courts for use in…
