61 West Superior

I was beside myself
when I first met you.
I am so to this day,
with you beside me.

And as an American sentence:

I was beside myself when we first met, and so I am to this day.

Love lives here: Reenas Xploration challenge #266

Love lives here …. By Carol Anne

Carol anne's avatarTherapy Bits

When you step inside my front door

You will read a sign

It says

“love lives here”

And this it does

In life, I want to be someone

Who loves fiercely

Who loves unconditionally

Who loves with all of my heart

And my soul

Not only do I love

But my dog, my cute lab

Does too

This house is full of puppy love

And people love

So with a wag and a ❤

I bid you fare well

But remember,

Love lives here.

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #266

hustle is the game at the start
the steam propels the drive
setting the pace of our youth

then aging signals the revelation
that life is slowing down

adjustments are made to lifestyle
accommodating the new stride
mental agitations are felt in our bodies
because we desire to achieve more
as time slips by

You’re The Pilot

You’re the pilot ….by Diana Coombes

Written for https://reinventionsreena.wordpress.com/2023/02/02/reenas-xploration-challenge-266/

It was the government’s motto ‘The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.’ Since 2043, and the invention of time travel, time flew for the rich. They could travel back and forth, without censorship. If they wanted to bring back valuables, or even live another life, they could.

For the poor, it was a way of keeping them under control. They could never be the pilot, and many found themselves deleted from the human race. One moment alive, with a wife, husband, or partner. The next their whole existence erased.

Children, opportunities, jobs gone in an instant. No warning. Nothing to let you know your life was at an end. People lived for ever, the planet’s surface depleted, space travel was the only answer.

Many animals were extinct, the rainforest replaced with oxygen modules instead.

Sar wished she could travel back in…

Rings ~ free verse

Rings — by Sangeetha

s.s.'s avatarMindfills

Rings of eternity,
Circles of gold,
Weave us in a story
To have and to hold

We stay entwined
And at ease
Between us sings
A gentle breeze

No eyes can see
Nor fingers feel
An intimacy
So simple, so real

Two Statues Become One

Two Statues Become One ….. by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

The 1937 novel by Azerbaijani author Kurban Said titled “Ali and Nino” is a tragic love story between Ali who is a Muslim nobleman from Azerbaijani and a Christian princess named Nino from Baku on the Caspian Sea.  This is a very complicated affair in an era of inter-religion tensions that take place during the years 1918–1920 when the First World War and the Russian Revolution were going on.  It has been hailed as one of the most romantic epic novels of all time.  The two had to fight, hide and escape from country to country to hide their love, until they arrive in Azerbaijan as a symbol of peace.  They are torn apart by the turmoil in this grand love story, and Ali joins the defense of Azerbaijan from the onslaught of the Red Army, and Nino flees to the safety of Paris with their child, not knowing whether they will ever see…

Influencing justice

“It’s not possible”, pleaded the advocate helplessly, “all proofs and witnesses are against you.” “Tell me clearly if you cannot do the job, and I’ll hire another lawyer. I am paying you a bomb to manage the legal process.” “Whatever has already gone on record remains unchanged.” “Blur the background of incidents a little, circulate … Continue reading Influencing justice

You live in a world where no Gods exist.
