Ah! The indifference of time

Ahh–The Indifference of Time …………by Aishwarya

RxC # 266

Ah! The indifference of time,

I exist everywhere,

In the by-lanes of crime,

In the hearts of poets who rhyme,

In the deathbeds of ailing,

In the newborns wailing,

In the fast lanes of Gen Z,

In the equanimity of all seeing tree,

Ah! The indifference of time,

Ah! The indifference of time,

I exist unscathed,

If I were to be here,

And you were to be there,

Yet life and causes differ,

Differently, even a mother and daughter suffer,

Know not I, much of you, and you of me,

Except for stories we share of sorrows and glee,

Ah spaced divergently! The indifference of time.

Ah! The indifference of time,

I exist eternally,

On different dimensions,

Harbouring similar apprehensions,

Man, riddled by emotions,

And intoxicated self promotion,

I see moon by the night and you star by the day,

Yet we exist until we may,

Ah!…

Time; our friend or enemy

Time: Our friend or enemy ….. by Sadje

Sadje/ Sadie's avatarKeep it alive

Each take is unique, and that is the beauty of a writing prompt. It takes each one of us on a different trail”

The hands of the clock

Revolve and come back

But the time flows

In one direction only

Like a river the waters of which

Never pass a point again

Lovers meet, embrace and separate

Time decides where,when, and how

Time is the important quotient

In the equation of life

The rise and fall of people

All depends on where they stand

In relation to ever-passing time

Infinity

newepicauthor's avatarMindlovemisery's Menagerie

Natural numbers begin with 1 and proceed by ones up to infinity ∞, which is not actually a number, it is an idea.  Infinity is a powerful concept that deals with something that is an absolutely unattainable value.  You may think that you are getting close to infinity, but you can never reach it, because infinity goes on forever and it never ends.  The odd thing is that infinity plus one is still equal to infinity, so nothing can be bigger than infinity.  Infinity is the largest of the large and the smallest of the small, as having an infinitesimal amount means that something is infinitely small, being too tiny to be measured.  This is the idea behind that is behind Calculus, as this form of mathematics allows us to be able to break lines down into smaller pieces, so curved lines would act like straight lines.  Calculus is used to determine…

broken

Broken ….by Elizabeth

Elizabeth's avatarTea & Paper

a broken dish
mended with gold
the scar is precious
it tells time and has a story
shouldn’t be erased, discarded
travelling to countries, continents
rough oceans, calm skies
it reveals a path taken, chosen
to reach the eventful moment
a split second of sorrow
when the past can’t be redone
however, the future is a choice
the trash bin or the shining on the shelf
a decision must be made
the fragility in the hands of the doer
a smile, a memory of celebration
a lump in my throat, a memory of an empty dish
mended with gold

What Is Love?

What is love? …
By Aboli Mane

Aboli Mane's avatarA Writer In The Room

What is love?
I ask as we part
the clock ticks
like a heartbeat
ten pm
flushed roses
droop their elegant heads
shamefaced

love is…
my ears sharpen
when you whisper
my world slows
love is…
a bird in spring
a coiled embrace
a moment

love is…
not a crown
or a monument
nor a crest jewel
love is…
the emotion
that stands the test
when time makes it wait

love is…
this moment
stretched infinite
as I hold your hand
ten past ten
love is…
your presence
lingering like a scent

this is love

Written for Reena’s: RXC PROMPT # 266

If I could freeze hands
on this timepiece, seconds shall
last infinitely

But none command its
constancy, savor joy and
pain, they come and go

Hold still, allow the
agonizing memories
to flow from within

Uncage the turmoil,
let pain engulf you, for it
too shall pass sadly

Unburden your eyes
tears heavy, precious jewels
flow in agony

Grant your heart it’s ache,
privilege earned for love
true, heavens forsake

Unleash your soul’s cry,
honor gained from emotions
pure, loss now shattered

Time hurts, but heals too,
through pain and loss we travel
must, to heal and grow

Suppress not desires
to feel broken, for times the
foe and the friend too

Father (A Flash Fiction)

Father ….by Michelle Navajas

michnavs's avatarmichnavs

Father (A Flash Fiction)

“i’m sorry, i couldn’t hear any heartbeat,” my doctor revealed after just a few minutes of examining my supposed baby bump. my mind went crazy, and my heart beat the fastest and loudest beat ever. i wanted to cry, but there were no tears. i wanted to shout and curse the universe. still, no sounds were coming out. my doctor knew i was on the brink of losing my composure, so she asked me to sit down and gave me a glass of water. “stay calm,” she said.

waiting for you as i held my tears was the most traumatic part of hearing the news. i could see myself heading in directions only God knows where. i wanted to run away, away from the reality that i would never get to hold in my arms the baby i so wanted to have. “you quietly came into…

TIME FLIES: Reena’s Xploration Challenge #266

Time flies ….by Ken Hume

kenhume31's avatarPoetry and Prose of Ken Hume

For this week’s Reena’s Xploration Challenge, Reena has given us some images on the concept of time as a source of creative inspiration for us. Below lies my contribution: 👇👇👇

TIME FLIES

Time flies
When you’re having fun
But still goes by
When you’re having none
The clock is ticking
While the earth is spinning
Around our glorious; smiling sun
Time heals
All wounds, they say
Have yet to see
How that really plays
Out
The clock is ticking
While the earth is spinning
Around our glorious; smiling sun
Time is free
You can never lack
You can’t keep
It or get it back
The clock is ticking
While the earth is spinning
Around our glorious; smiling sun
