I wince
my truth is underplayed
my honesty suspected
for I happen to be
a storyteller
stories are pixelated truth
fragments of thoughts
floating through humanity
And if my words are shadows on the wall,
is it deception—
or the only way to touch the light?

Telling the truth through lies… or more kindly, through imagination. Lovely observation!

Fiction masquerades as lies but reveals deep truths. Fantasy and comedy are different genres.

I often find that fiction is a much better tool to tell the truth.

100pc. A disclaimer protects you from the consequences. And it is possible to bring out the core by focussing on select stuff.

I love this. I often feel like… Am I liar since I spin yarn or is that a deeper truth… Or something like that…
this is so good.
seriously.

A good close Reena! It’s true! A story-teller has to create an environment for telling them!

The honesty in this poem about the paradox of storytelling, fragments as truth, shadows as light is stunning. You’ve answered your own question perfectly: it’s not deception; it’s the truest way we know how to touch what matters most. Beautiful work, Reena. 💫
