It flows with me, but I can’t keep pace with it. I am a dot.
I ask the river to carry my story to the oceans. It accepts by touching my hand lowered over the guardrail.
The sun takes away a part of it, and clouds rain somewhere else.
Other stories are curious and want to mingle with mine. The river looks helpless. It cannot ensure segregation.
A collective version reaches the ocean, and the ocean issues a verdict.
I’m rewarded or punished for things I did not do.
It is the story of the human race. We cannot disconnect.

So true!

Is it not odd, that us humans sometime cannot live without each other and yet cannot live with each other.

Reena a beautiful reflective piece I love your fluid central metaphor of the river as the collective stream of existence, moving too fast for any single person to hold or control 🙌

Sounds almost like being punished for the sins of the father. While humanity has a common responsibility, individuals shouldn’t be held accountable for the wrongs others have done or rewarded for the virtues of others.

It’s not fair for sure. But what happens in riots, war, negative results of nuclear experiments?
