I will meet life at a point
where I finally embrace
myself
like a new acquaintance
sans preconceived notions
without a care
for public opinion
or a legacy
-yet the footprints
will speak louder
than those squeaky shoes

  1. I recently read a paper by Michael Barnett on the International Progress, International Order, and the Liberal International Order. It is an interesting read, his perspective he feels is the decline in the ILO is down to too much emphasis on individualism instead of Cosmopolitanism. I think Self Actualisation is a great concept by Maslow and a simple analogy for growth if used correctly with the right balance. If according to the author of the paper he is correct, how do we get the correct balance of Individualism Self actualisation and Cosmopolitanism, MWO surely must be a limitation to SA and human flourishing?

  14. That paradox at the heart of it not caring about legacy, yet the footprints speaking louder that’s the whole truth of authenticity. When you stop performing for an audience (including yourself), that’s when your actual impact crystallizes.
    The squeaky shoes were doing all the talking anyway, it’s the silent footprints that change the ground. 💜
