Solace means different things at different points in time.
Right now, being heard would feel like great solace to me, but it is not likely to happen.
Holding an anti-establishment view in a highly volatile political scenario is not easy. Express your opinions and people in your close circles can jump at you.
Being a feminist in a patriarchal society is all the more difficult. Everybody wants to predict that you will suffer in the long run. They genuinely believe a fear psychosis can change a mindset at a mature stage in life.
A dose of sanity would be a great solace, but …

Choosing to be an outsider because you don’t want to play the game will result in isolation not solace. True peace comes from belonging, not from fighting the world.

That “but …” at the end is devastating because it’s honest, you’re not asking for change, just for the space to exist in your convictions without being weaponized against. The fact that people reach for fear as a tool to reshape a mature mind says everything about how threatened they are by women who won’t apologize for thinking differently.
