I change a little
each time the wheel turns
emerge a new being
but those shadows
continue to haunt
with fluid, unpredictable movement
I learn
how to rotate the wheel
and make it stop
wherever, whenever
I wish
to change perspectives
to project myself
in a languid, golden light
the shadows disappear in the dark
the wheel of time
moves somewhere else
inflicting judgment
but
-My part of the world is safe
My followers salute me

That is confidence! Excellent. 🙂

This is such a profound take on the prompt.
The line ‘I learn how to rotate the wheel and make it stop’ is brilliant.
‘I learn how to rotate the wheel and make it stop wherever,
whenever I wish to change perspectives to
project myself in a languid, golden light.’ Brilliant.

A beautiful poem, from the dark to how you are positive by the end of the poem.
