I came across another interesting fact about Death Valley. It has a unique geology.

It contains Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level. This stark depression contributes to the valley’s intense heat by trapping dense, hot air near the surface.

In India, maximum temperatures can range between 45 – 50 degree Celsius, and the less privileged people living on streets die in the extreme weather conditions. Others cannot survive without airconditioning.

  1. I lived in Indaina for several years. It is a midwester state. The air doesn’t circulate well and was not good for folks with allergies. It often seemed to me that central Indiana where we lived had two seasons – summer and winter. Thanks for the info on Death Valley.

  2. Your poem captures the extreme heat perfectly. Where I live the temps are mild compared to other states in the US. However, I couldn’t stand the heat and humidity without AC.
