undressing
never felt so good
peeling off diaphanous garments
-of imposed ideas
-of attributed traits
the scrap lying at her feet
shards of broken mirrors
that reflects a stranger
not her face.

floating
above the ground
She feels the lightness
-of authenticity
-of a free mind
unhinged from the gravity of expectations
She flaps her wings
aligns herself with the sky
takes off with the wind

  2. I think we would all like that type of flight. Especially when dark clouds are looming in the future. But taking responsiblity for our own faults give us a different freedom.

  8. thank you, Reena. You have conveyed the lightness of relieving oneself of both the self Impoaed burdens and the limitations society tries to enforce. A liberated being floats between these lines and verses, having overcome many many challenges, and looking at life with new eyes
