Recycle and Reprocess

I am embarrassed to admit I once joined a coaching class to learn Microsoft Office. I was ridiculed at home because everybody else learnt on the job.

I am not ashamed to say that I have seen life before the internet and mobiles became inextricably linked to our existence. We have witnessed typewriters, cassette players, vinyl record albums, DVD players, and video cassette recorders.

But I don’t use them now.

I’m learning to examine my thoughts and words to check how many emanate from the past.

I can’t find a junk dealer to buy them, so they must be reprocessed.

  1. I am sure we all have the same experience. My items are now obsolete at 5 years old, no new software updates and equipment incompatibility seem to happen too often. At least with the old typewriters they keep on working.

  2. These days no one should ever be ashamed about not knowing something or trying to learn it. These days you have to be constantly learning just to stay current. It’s a whole different world from even a few decades ago, just for that.

  3. At the age of 53, I now realise I can not accept any more technological information without dumping something else. I’ve decided to increase my spending on records and try to remember how to write with handwriting slightly better than a doctors. Good stuff.
