Why father a nation when the future’s unclear,
shadows of doubt and uncertainty near?
Why dream of tomorrow when citizens rise
to build their futures, to reach for the skies?
I stood with a vision, a beacon of light,
yet it faltered in shaping an ideology right.
Dreams I harboured, the hopes I bore,
scattered like leaves on a lonely shore.
Why father a nation when the spirit is strong,
the voices of many create their song?
I may have stumbled, I may have failed,
The future is theirs; their dreams have prevailed.
So, let them build castles, let them chart seas,
With courage and wisdom, with hearts at ease.
For a nation is born not from one man’s decree,
But from the collective, the spirit of “we.”

I feel this spirit of “we” here in the US now, especially with fellow women. Excellent write, Reena!

The problem is whatever is done by the miscreantsis not to build a better nation with a new vision . they are used by few powerful ones who have vested interests.

They manage to undo a lot of things. What surprises me is the willingness of people to be led by their brains. No other surrender can come close to this.

Beautifully written Reena. The reality we can see happening in our neighbor- Bangladesh. 🇧🇩

The miscreants are few but highly disruptive there, being influenced by political or other motivations. The common people are very much like us.

Beautifully written Reena. You have captured what much of the world is questioning right now. We will not fare well in an autocratic society. 💕🌺

Absolutely true. Right now, it looks like technology might be the new tyrant managed by a few humans.

Of course, because we do not have retaliatory or defence tools as yet.
