What a pity people live in dark corners while the sun and moon light up planets mechanically, with no intended recipients.
You need to place yourself in the direction of light, grab it with eyes and hands and tools, store it in containers with fancy shapes, manage temperatures in specific time zones.
You cannot pluck moonlight to bring in your pocket a part of the world it lighted up just before you grabbed it. You get only your own share.
You cannot challenge sunrays to fall in patterns in your courtyard and bottle up what remains for yet another day, when you feel the need to prolong a day – or life.
People live in dark corners oblivious of the fact, that reflections captured inside memory and enhanced with imagination is all that will last a lifetime or beyond.
Shore up your internal systems.

Interesting poem. With a load of meaning 🔥

From the arrogance of man, you’d never know these are things they cannot do. Acceptance in our small place in the way of things is the first step to wisdom. Thoughtful writing, as always.

Sometimes we think we can manipulate anything our way and that resources are limitless. On another note, I think the world needs a lot of inner light right now….which could be limitless if we all tapped into it.

Beautifully put, Reena… I have always thought it a shame that light is so fleeting and capricious…

Physics is all about understanding and harnessing natural sources to serve humankind. But to what extent can they go?

I think it depends on how hard they push the envelops, Reena…

I agree with Björn. I feel science fiction/dystopian threads in your prosery, Reena, which really appeal to me. I especially like the idea in: ‘You cannot challenge sunrays to fall in patterns in your courtyard and bottle up what remains for yet another day’.
