“I can’t be rich and famous, however hard I try.”
“What makes you say ‘I can’t’?”
“A track record of failures, and a not-so-glorious family history….”
“I don’t want to sound clichéd, but did all the rich and famous people start on a strong footing?”
“They are born lucky.”
“Luck is a term invented to explain what we don’t understand.”
“What am I supposed to understand here?”
“Do you really want to move forward?”
“Of course…”
“Release the brakes first.”

Love the metaphor of the wheelchair. Sitting only a few feet from a wheelchair which I’ve sat in several times, and tried (without success)to move forward in, when the brakes are still on, i get it. And people’s beliefs can often be as limiting as a physical brake. Clever!

We all have baggage in our past. Some have more than others – but Everyone has baggage. Making it through the maze of life is rewarding but also the only way to continue to write the story of YOU. Just do your best and ENJOY the trip!

Let go of the fear. Rest will follow. You may not be rich. You will be free for sure.

We can paralyze ourselves with doubts and rationalizations if we aren’t careful. Your story speaks directly to it. Good dialogue.

It is often the simple things that prevent us from taking the first step.

I actually did check to make sure the brakes were released 🙂 This is a great story, with a good moral for all of us.

Maybe she’ll break the mould, but only if she lets go. Even luck struggles when the brakes are on

Everything has an element of luck, but you still need to put in the hard work first.

Nice upbeat story, Reena. A question: are we individually in control of all (or even most) of the brakes?

Yes. That was my thought before I started writing. Then, the flow took me to the last sentence. My answer to your question is No. I don’t believe in motivational talks and clips.
