I am a disappointed parent, unable to see my Harvard-bred smart genes in my child. He is a slow learner, and has been enrolled for several counselling and therapy sessions.
His suicide note breaks my heart. The suicide is a well-executed task after gathering a lot of information from the internet.
“It took me months to learn how to do it, Dad, but I did not want to fare too badly in your eyes again.”
I have not fared too well as a parent.

Oh this is so heartbreaking! Not wanting to disappoint the parents even in death. To what extent are we driving our children to achieve? Great story.

Setting them up against own unfulfilled ambitions, and not acknowledging individuality is the biggest disservice a parent does to humankind. It leaves behind a scar, a struggle, a challenge … all of which was avoidable.
