He was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment on charges of theft. On his way out from the courtroom, he stopped near his mother in the viewers’ seats, and spat on her face. Onlookers were stunned. “I wish you had punished me the first time I stole an extra bun from the baker’s shop. But you … Continue reading Karma Bites
Writing stories
The high-priced biscuits are arranged in a pattern on the lawn. “What are you doing, Jamie? Food gets contaminated.” “I’m writing a pictorial story, Mom, not eating characters.” But Puppy did not seem to care about stories. He took a mouthful, while Jamie spoke to me. Jamie’s scream is heart-rending, as he slaps the guilty-looking … Continue reading Writing stories

Thoughts and Words
those were not my words but thoughts in a spin cycle what came through voice chords A jumbled jargon as if the words did not know which thought to attach with some of them could link to so many thoughts others did not recognise themselves coming from a deep subconscious Is that really me?? Cherry Blossoms
Cherry Blossoms…. By Dwight Roth

Cherry blossoms lead the Spring parade. Along with flowering pear, and redbuds they provide a glorious silhouette against the deep blue sky. I took this photo in my neighborhood this morning. Cherry blossoms are a great symbol of new life and light as we lead into Easter this coming weekend.
Cherry blossoms shine
Painting warm soft spring snowflakes
Soon wrapped in deep green
At d’Verse, Frank asked us to write our Monday Haibun on the theme of cherry blossoms. I waited to post till today so I could show you the beautiful cherry blossoms I see as I pass in and out of my neighborhood.

Karma Bites
Karma Bites …..by VJ Knutson
She looks over my shoulder
that sister, born dying –
whom I mocked, cajoled
and judged so harshly
She breathes down my neck
that sister, I despised
for her sin, and mistakes
how she always abandoned me
She taunts me constantly
ridicules my failing ways
her thoughts poisoned darts
attack me at my core
My eyes are opening,
compassion too late
“Karma bites”, her ghost
hisses as illness seeps in.
