colors and patternsspeak, yet leave things open tointerpretationwe communicate onlywith standardized symbols I spend the night hunting for lost words. I dream of failure to deliver on a writing project, because I lose a clue. It’s a syllable falling short somewhere, or a synonym not found. The antonym is too aggressive and throws me into … Continue reading Lost words
I believe that synchronicity is the result of the universe sending us signals for something we don’t understand. It happens to me in small ways all the time. You think about someone, and the person calls. A delayed parcel arrives just as you plan to lodge a complaint. My husband and I may think about … Continue reading Synchronicity
It was my first day at work as a repossession agent. “Do you have the number to call an ambulance?” Dan asked. “What for?” “Loan defaulters often get collywobbles or feign myocardial infarctions when you approach them. They should be hospitalized immediately, lest you are slapped with a suit.” Three days later… “I can’t believe … Continue reading Framed

Sewn with words ….. By Audrine Maxden

the people tried
to condition her
to be able to define
who she was
but nobody could
she adamantly refused
for she belonged
to no one
so they left her there
naked, untouched
misunderstood by everyone
then, she picked up
some leaves and broken twigs
inscribed in them
the most beautiful words
to clothe her soul with
started to fashion
her own beliefs
sewn herself with speech
that reflect
who she truly is
affirmations, she felt them
new beliefs, she lived them
chaos and confusion
she left them
gave up living
the comparted ideas
of who she was
courageously surrendering
to the harmony
interweaving herself
better self concepts, thus-
uplifting her self worth
as her garden
slowly transforms
to be her own respite
her place of calm
now exhibiting strength
and intelligence, she knew
she is both the awareness
and the inner voice
that is serenely sitting,
resting at the…

Restricted to Chaos ….by Ken Hume
Afternoon folks! I’ve taken the liberty of combining 2 prompts this Friday, from Reena’s Xploration Challenge 252 & Moonwashed Weekly Prompt. Chaos and the Forbidden. Hope ye enjoy the results! 🤞🙏😁
RESTRICTED TO CHAOS
Tasting of the forbidden fruit
Stems back to the dawn of creation
Now a rite of passage of our youth
Forbidden love
Forbidden behaviour
Substance abuse
But can the forbidden
Be your saviour?
For not all that is forbidden is wrong
Nor all that is permitted right.
In truth
So placing too many restrictions
Can lead a curious soul to fight,
Push back against them
Break the rules
Thus ignite
Sparks of rebellion
That, if unchecked
Can turn into a fire
Wreaking havoc
And destruction
Disorder & confusion
That can betray us
With the illusion
That there’s freedom
In the forbidden
On this wild horse
That we have ridden
Where under the surface
There lies hidden

It’s okay to be different …. by Sadje

Have you ever been called weird?
Strange? Unnatural? Peculiar Or odd?
Those who have a narrow vision would
Call names or put labels on those they don’t understand
I proudly stand and own these names and more
For I am unique and bold, strong enough to be different!

Soul Actually ….by Lady Lee

Chaos and disorder
Chaos in my soul
Soul dancing amidst chaos
Soul all over the place
Place where there’s creativity
Place with compassion
Compassion and wisdom
Compassion to other people
People of our lives
People who make us smile
Smile and the world smiles back
Smile even when we’re down
Down and out
Down for a while
While we are having coffee
While we are dancing
Dancing to groovy music
Dancing all night long
Long live chaos
Long live creativity
Creativity to do things
Creativity that makes us happy
Happy that I’m with you
Happy and content
Content of what life gives me
Content of the world
World of order in disorder
World of fun
Fun sun and sand
Fun cycling to the park
Park and drive
Park with all the flowers
Flowers fountain and lake
Flowers all for me
Me and you against the world
Me and you this…

Jamais Vu …by Indira
The word prompt for this week is
Jamais Vu
It is the opposite of Deja Vu.
jamais vu involves a sense of eeriness and the observer’s impression of experiencing something for the first time, despite rationally knowing that they have experienced it before. Jamais vu is sometimes associated with certain types of aphasia, amnesia, and epilepsy.
I’m sure hisvisit to the hospital is to confirm whether I’m alive or dead.
I’m in a vulnerableposition.
‘Who am I, who are you,why I’m here?’
I bombardthe doctor with questions.
The doctor confirms traumatic amnesia.
He seems relieved.
I have to feign jamais vu
till I’m strong enough to return the favors.
