Reena’s Exploration Challenge by Reena Saxena
When he died, her world cracked, a thousand shards of body shattered like a quarried stone. It wasn’t she missed him; his hands were rough on her skin, abrasive, his body heavy and hurting, but he was all she knew. Without him, she was nothing. Felt nothing. Belonged nowhere.
Her mind was free, yet her body was not, so long trapped it had forgotten freedom.
I wish, it said, I wish, but no wishes were left.
I long, it said, I long, but no longing was left.
I cry, it said, I cry, but no crying was left.
I die, it said, I die, but there is no dying left.

The Sacred Grove …… by Len

She kicked off her shoes and danced through the meadow. The sun on her face, the warm breeze caressing her skin, the sweet perfume of wild flowers taking her breath away and transporting her to a another world. She lingered by the edge of the meadow, enjoying the heat from the noon sun , before skipping into the coolness of the woods. She caressed each tree, singing to them, adding her voice to the chorus of robins from their choir loft in the branches. She was ecstatic at the wonder of it all. She slumped in the arms of a red maple, sliding slowly to the ground resting her head against the trunk and closing her eyes.
Someone was gently shaking her shoulder.

Being one with the nature
It is so futile to resist that call
Which I can hear not with my ears
But directly with my heart
It call me to be one with the nature
To be a balm to the broken and bleeding
Injured mother earth
To assuage its tears and to repair the hurt
By binding our minds and forms to the wavelength
Of our planet, we can become
The rescuers, the ones who rehabilitate
And not the ones who plunders and destroy

A Longing Ache ……. by Deborah

PROMPT:

Ancient tree woman
melancholy ponderings
of when she was
but a seedling
young, tender, delicate
reminiscent of past loves
and other experiences
she was carefree
living in wonder
never concerned with
a future of settled
and although she
has gained great
wisdom through the ages
still, there is one
thing left unfulfilled
a longing ache
for a love eternal
