Welcome to Week 90!

PROMPT FOR THIS WEEK

The word ‘compromise’ is just a theme. It need not appear in the piece. There is no harm if it does appear, or a synonym. The choice is yours.

“Compatibility”

(Haiku)

No two people are

completely compatible,

they must compromise.

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #90–Compromise

Compromise ….. Sadje’s contribution to the Exploration Challenge!

Sadje's avatarKeep it alive

Do we always get what we want

There are many desires which are

Left unsatisfied, unfulfilled in life

Many an occasions we have to

Make a compromise, an adjustment

There is much fun in using a substitute

If the one we want is not available

Be adaptable, be flexible in choices

But never do compromise in important things

Like principles and people you choose to love

Not in accepting less than what is your worth

Welcome to Week 90!

PROMPT FOR THIS WEEK

The word ‘compromise’ is just a theme. It need not appear in the piece. There is no harm if it does appear, or a synonym. The choice is yours.

sad, depressed, heart-broken

wandering along the seashore

calm, cool, soothing water

invites

I take a dip in the sea

water  tastes like my tears

waves  caress, wash traces of tears

whisper in my ear ‘don’t break down or bow out

be like us

carefree and courageous’

I surrender

Floating with the waves

Time stands still to watch

Wind sings lullaby

Sloop John B

Sloop John B ….. by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

Am I able to write another post today?  Don’t bother trying to answer, as that was a rhetorical question, because I am going to take this one home.  There is a plenitude of prompts for me to chose from and I will try to dabble in all of them.  Covering multiple prompts in the same post might compromise my writing, taking me off topic, but it also affords me the advantage of writing about different topics.  I try to nurture my posts and let them breathe in the oxygen, so they can develop into a story that I can be proud of.  If I write something that is too radical, I may have to suffer penance later because of that.  From day to day and night to night, I never know where the prompts will lead me.  I write using Microsoft WORD, so I don’t have to worry about running…

Exploration Challenge #89 from Reena Saxena -Haiku Prompt
You could write a story or an anecdote with a haiku as part of it. A Haibun or Alternating verse and poetry, of course works.https://reinventionsreena.wordpress.com/2019/05/30/reenas-exploration-challenge-89/

A subtle fragrance

senses heightened

He sipped his glass of wine and breathed in the spicy aromas emanating from the kitchen. Contentment washed over him as his senses were continually assailed with the fragrance of domesticity. Good food, good wine, and a perfect wife. Life was good.

She liked a clean and orderly house. She vacuumed, she mopped, she dusted, she polished. She liked the clean fresh scent of lavender that cleansed the floors, the scent of pine in the bathroom cleansers and the assorted fragrances of the pot pourri placed strategically around the house.

He loved to be close to her. Her subtle perfume stirred his desire and he would hold…

Keep Learning

Keep learning …. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

Tyrannical,  my father’s reign; the ensuing understanding of relationship dynamics twisted.  Violence and threats peppered with “I love you”, as if one was synonymous with the other.  I cowered with the rest, shame a heavy weight.

Oppression dictates
warped sense of love, intimate
nightmare – relearning.

(For Reena’s Exploration challenge #89.  Relationships have been the theme of my dreams lately – thus the reversal to childhood.)

Adventure | #MichaelLouis - www.MichaelLouis.com

Over thirty-one years ago when I entered Alcoholics Anonymous to begin my journey with God, the “old timers” (very wise men of God), kept telling me over and over again to read page 449 in the back of the AA Big Book. So I looked it up and this is what it said;

“And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today.  When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation–some fact of my life–unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until…
