A mother’s love

A mother’s love ….. by kittysverses

The waters of the lake,

Glistening under the mid-morning sun,

Still, and not running so deep,

Bordering the fringe, the greens ever so thick,

Barely any light emanating amongst the foliage,

Lying half immersed, as lifeless as the rock beside it,

The one armed crocodile,

Bidding its time for a catch or two,

Kept me wondering, an arm lost:

Could it be?

Space domination, hunger pangs, vying for a partner ,

Protecting its young one or merely something else?

As the boat moved further,

With the boatman goading us to ,

Enjoy the sights of egrets, cormorants, storks,

And yet other migratory birds,

A sight so warm and deep,

And yet taken for granted,

Of a mother painted stork,

A beauty by herself,

With colourful wings

Of pink, black, yellow, white,

Resolving a fight amongst her kids,

Trying to be impartial and teaching ,

Lessons of sharing and brotherhood,

PROMPT/THEME OF THE WEEK

“Revitalized”

(Poem)

A kaleidoscope color show

nature simulates this for me,

just as the sun sets low.

Firey balloon ball of ruby red

descends, such a pleasure to see;

Horizon glows and spreads.

Into the realm of contentment,

is all I could seek,

to end all existence of resentment.

Soon that ruby red balloon

disappeared beneath the landscape,

leaving me to dwell within the cavity of my cocoon.

Envisioning the darkness

did not make me sad;

No, no… It made me feel glad.

Tomorrow the fireball would return

and my heart will be renewed,

to see the ruby red balloon lit up like a lantern.

Reena Saxena Challenge #90. The word prompt is compromise.
https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/99026065/posts/19137

He shuffled forward. He could sense the swarm of humanity behind him but kept his eyes fixed to the front. He was patient, recognizing that he had all the time in the world. No, that wasn’t quite right. Single file, another step forward. He was approaching the gates.

The gates hovered over him, disappearing into the misty heights. There were two elevators just inside the gates. The elevator on the right had an UP arrow and the elevator on the left had a DOWN arrow. Before the gates sitting at a desk was a young woman peering at the page of a book.

” If you could just sign here confirming your name and date of birth”. She pointed to a column in the book and extended a pen.

The book was duly signed.

“If you could just step on…

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #90 — Compromise

Compromise ….. by MS Jadeli

Lisa or Li's avatarTao-Talk

This world as we know it is one big compromise. If it wasn’t, life couldn’t exist on planet Earth. As I sat here trying to think of the topic, I looked outside at the pear tree in the back yard. The pear tree is alive because of compromise. From the perspective of the tree, it wants to be the biggest, most fruitful tree it can be. If there was not compromise and the tree had its own way, it would grow so big and be so fruitful, there wouldn’t be room for anything else but it, and the planet would consist of one massive pear tree.

As we are all here, and the pear tree is an average-sized tree that produces varying numbers of pears each year, it means that the pear tree has compromised. It has agreed to have a space to grow to a reasonable size and to…

Compromise – Michael’s contribution to Exploration Challeneg #90

“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours?”

We were six years old at the time.

“Is that it?” I exclaimed after she’d dropped her pants.

“Is that it?” she retorted upon seeing what I had to offer.

Boy and girl bits, we decided were best left in our respective pants.

Six years later we’d grown some

Puberty was hitting us both,

Her chest was starting to bulge

I was beginning to have stirrings in my pants

Our parents had warned us about treating each other ‘Inappropriately’,

As they put it.

For us, compromise took on another form

She wanted to play in my team,

My mates didn’t like the idea,

She was a girl, after all.

But she could hit a ball better than most of us,

So, she became an asset.

Because she was so good,

My neighbour, insisted on having an extra team member

When she…

Woman before an Aquarium

There is a line that should exist

In every relationship.

Opposites may attract,

which is okay if

one person is not required

to lose his identity

to satisfy the other.

This is not compromise.

It is annihilation
of personality.
