Desires - Lost or Found .... by Tina Stewart Brakebill
First in this week …..Couldn’t catch the clap…. by Jim Adams
Richard Surelock was a private detective who was very clumsy and he appeared to be a cross between Inspector Clouseau and Mr. Bean. He tried hard, but because of his bumbling and incompetent antics, he had never solved a case. He obtained the undesirable reputation of not being able to catch the clap in a whorehouse, but who wants to get that anyways. Richard or Dick as he liked being called just got a new case from the family of a deceased figure skater Shirley Styles who was apparently headed to the Olympics, before she met her demise. The death certificate said it was an accident, but the girl’s family wanted Dick to prove it was a homicide, as they suspected foul play. Dick needed the work, so he took the case with echoing desires of finally doing something productive, which would put a whole new perspective on his career.

Creativity is a blessing …. by VJ Knutson

The child embraces creativity without limits. I have memories of tucking between my bed and the wall, hidden from view, surrounded by materials for drawing, writing, and colouring. I kept the chaos at bay with my creative endeavours.
Life happened, and the pencils and crayons disappeared. Journals remained, but only for private. Mundanity and routine replaced imagination.
Then illness struck and with dis-ability came time, and that inner urge to create re-emerged. A true blessing.
(Reena’s Exploration Challenge this week is quotations related to writing, creativity, or writer’s block.)
Michael’s thoughts on Writer’s Block…
PROMPT
This week, we will play around with
quotes – preferably around writing, creativity OR writer’s block
If you have a brilliant thought about something else, you are most welcome to share it in the form of a quote.
I don’t really have any quote regarding writing other than to write about what you know which seems commonsense to me, even though at times delving into fantasy can be a lot of fun.
I like your quote:

I too observe people, I watch and learn, certainly from film in one particular way. Also, in the shopping centre on pension day when there are many ‘unusual’ people there and in saying this when I venture there, so am I.
So often what we write is reflecting the people around us, the context from which we write is important to us as writers as we draw so heavily from that source.

“Disastrous decisions are such wonderful gifts! They make it so much easier for us to do better next time.” – Ben Naga.
MORALITY
If we do
Whatever we seek to do
In search of righteousness
Then that is sufficient
Is it not?
We reflect on our actions
But these may over time
Fall into unexamined habits
Refreshing our examination
Of our beliefs
Our understandings
Our day to day experiences
May allow us to escape
The boxes we have built
Reconnect us to the Eternal
From which we arose
