Over the years,

The jars of mind,

Accumulates different things,

Knowingly or unknowingly,

Some that it sees,

Some that it likes,

Some that it fears,

Some that it hears,

What is it to unload some of it,

Once in a while,

Will we ever know?

If only we try,

Unlearning to learn.

52words.

Melding

Melding …. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

I have ventured
into your atmosphere
slipped my skin
your skin
and discovered
a universe
thoughts
emotions
beliefs
blending
into a physical dance
of light and shadow
nuances of colour
delineating life

At our core
we are light
leaning into mystery
cellular interpretations
of a symphony
we cannot hear

Compassion extended
mind altered
we meld.

Small Reaction

Small reaction ….. by tiredhamster

tiredhamster's avatarVery Important Stuff Here

We live in a dimensionless age
where creation can spread itself
across the eye, oranges can impose,
particulates can sway, a dream
upheld in an unseen splotch.
But no mind comes of it.
Something stands there, fixed
to itself, as hues battle and chew
themselves, holes blossom,
spewing some violet innards
until darkness shapes.
A small circle, growing, reaching
with its impetuous hand,
fingering for a new glow
but the darkness whimpers
and closes out this dimension,
receiving and receding.

Written in response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge #141. Basically the challenge was to watch this cool video and then write whatever came to mind afterwards.

Reena Saxena is the host of Reena’s Exploration Challenge.  Reena says:
Spend 6 minutes on watching this video

After that, just write whatever comes to mind in free flow. Let some time elapse in between, if you so desire.

We use more of strategic and lateral thinking when the thought process is fettered by a theme. True creativity emerges when it is not confined.

Psychedelic lights on the dance floor of the mind, makes moods swing from ‘angry’ to ‘dissatisfied’ to ‘joyful’ to ‘ grateful calm’ as realization dawns.

As Above ~ ekphrastic poem

As above – an ekphrastic poem by rivrvlogr

Ken Gierke / rivrvlogr's avatarrivrvlogr

As Above

so below, within the pulse that emerges
star fields forming just beyond

flames engulfing, just as quickly receding
depth in layers revealing what was always there

currents that conceal nothing and everything
eclipsing perception even as stars dance

their light washing away all you perceive
offering instead an amorphous birth

life in starlight

This ekphrastic poem is my response to the prompt for Reena’s Exploration Challenge #141 – Free Flow, which is to express a free flow of thoughts inspired by As Above, a video by artist Roman Hill showing the surface of a fluid chemical reaction accompanied by a pensive score.

Also shared with Open Link Night #269 at dVerse Poets Pub.

Chemicals

A take by Susi Bocks on Exploration Challenge #141

Susi Bocks's avatarI Write Her

so much beauty in agitation
in volatility and calm
of death and rebirth

all is seemingly fluid
with rigidity in the resolve
of living and expression

how we capture meaning
dependent on what
intermingles with us
