The cat and the drawer

The cat and the drawer ….. by Shilpa Nairy

“Daddy…….. Daddy…….”

“Did you see it again, baby?”

She hugged him tightly and said, “Yes, dad. Again same black cat pulled my quilt, jumped over the table and scratching the drawer”.

“Sleep, my dear. All will be fine”

“You are saying the same from last ten years. I want to know what’s in the drawer, who has locked it. Where is the key?”

“I swear, I don’t have the key. I tried to open it by all means but its not”

She cried and pulled her bedsheet. Numerous thoughts, questions were weaving the web in mind and struggling to come out of it. She had become the cocoon within it from many years and want to come out from it resolving it and emerging into a new life.

She put her all positive thoughts and woke up in the morning in search of the answer. She digs the toolbox to…

Lonely Planets

Lonely Planets …. By Len

Responding to Reena’s Exploration Challenge #154 based on above image. https://reinventionsreena.wordpress.com/2020/09/24/reenas-exploration-challenge-154/

We are 7.8 billion lonely planetary bodies, circling each other, affected by gravity, pushing and pulling against each other to stay on course. We are 7.8 billion separate ecosystems, struggling to co-exist, trying to make sense of our environment, attentive to our own needs, less so to others. We are 7.8 billion conscious beings, waiting to be fully aware. waiting for our potential to take root and grow.

Discard your blinkers, look around, open your eyes and view the beauty of this planet and its people. Notice the person next to you, touch the person next to you, reach out to the person next to you. Be it family, friend, neighbor or stranger. Stop listening to the news with its distorted, slanted bias towards the worst of human nature. Feed your mind with poetry, noble stories, tales of heroism…

PROMPT #154

What you see below is neither an image prompt nor a theme.

I prefer to see it as a background on which you have to write something.

cobweb of evil
alluring glitterati
point of no return
beware, naive aspirants,
glitters can be deceptive

The deep, dark web

The deep, dark web …….. by Shweta Suresh

Shweta's avatarMy Random Ramblings

Life might seem simple
But it's anything but!
Memories, people, experiences.
emotions, successes, failures,
and so much more..
woven into an intricate web
Too complicated to escape from,
Too messy to make sense of,
Too deep to fully understand,
Too sticky at times
to navigate through.
As we pick up new tricks,
The web gets trickier.
We struggle and keep fighting
Unraveling one puzzle after another.
We struggle to pave our way
through the one-way ticket…
the journey from birth to death.

This post was written in response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge #154. The challenge for this week was to “to see it as a background on which you have to write something.”

I interpreted that as a prompt leads you and publish a post on your own blog that responds to the prompt. Click on the link to know more about this challenge and to read the entries…

Remain Steadfast

Remain steadfast ….. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

Illusory this ideation of separation
intricate the webs that bind us

Politicians focus on the holes
pander to the vacuous –

Seekers resonate with connection
consciousness raising awareness

Remain steadfast protestors
your vibrations wide-reaching.

Web of emotions,
Emotions that I started feeling and emotions that I expressed..

Mindfield

Mindfield ……. by Punam

paeansunplugged's avatarpaeansunpluggedblog

Sometimes

the jumbled neurons are a dense tangled web

not letting a shard of sense to penetrate

yet the synaptic cleft is a coarse sieve

through which dark, biased thoughts slither

into the cauldron of disquiet subconscious

poisoning the process of perception

infiltrating the inviolable memory bank

leaving long held beliefs comatose

the communication between

the conscious and the subconscious

totters on the verge of total collapse

But then

learned behaviour kicks in

an antidote to the tenebrous paralysis

sometimes a battle is won or two lost

in this ongoing exhausting war

the surface calm belying the struggle within

giving up often seems the best recourse

stubborn heels dig in then.

The Mind- #Reena’s Exploration Challenge

The Mind …. by cozyquietcorner

Priya's avatarCozy Quiet Corner

Written for Reena’s Exploration Challenge #154.

I watch the clear crystals, these raindrops, trail and gather at the ledge of the shed.
One by one, they drip down and fall into the puddle below; purity giving way to the muddy milieu.

And I ponder…

In my mind, I feel the darkness gather at the edge and watch them branch into the void. The cobweb strands sink into my psyche; fear, anger, pain, guilt, insecurity, greed, loneliness, jealousy..
Playing hide and seek, shades shadow these threads. They refine my sanctuary, define my thoughts till they morph.

The spider’s web catches a fly.

Sanity flutters its wings.

These are just some thoughts that randomly invaded my mind looking at the image.

Other prompts: #RDP– Darkness; Word of the Day– Watch; #3TC– Rain, Drip & Puddle; #YDWP– Refine

Tangled

Tangled ….. by letsreadourwords

Roshni's avatarLet's read our words

Reena’s Exploration Challenge

Entangled within desires
That branch out viciously
Like the old trees, whose branches
Remain tangled and entwined among themselves;
Untouched, feared, at times revered too.
Their gnarled selves lash mercilessly,
Mindless of our lives…
And what do we do?
We struggle to free ourselves
But alas!! those deadly knots tighten,
And we remain enslaved in a happiness
That’s neither true nor real.

Thank you for reading 😊😊
