Cooking and Poetry - a moment of bliss ...... by JudeiTakali
Excellent poetry sometimes comes in a language we have not learnt.
I make the task easier for you with this English translation. Find the original Hindi poem below
Suffer humiliation in your space, but
I wait – on the threshold of timeGive me remnants of a stale moment
I ask – on the threshold of timeWhy did I not value you before?
I think – on the threshold of timeThe one who kicked the world to action
today crawls – on the threshold of timeIf there is justice in His court
We’ll meet – on the threshold of time

Changing Face of Time …… by Radhika
Life took its first breath eons ago
traversing on its path of evolution since.
A multitude of changes ensued,
with time, the only constant.
This journey witnessed a change in man’s perception of time,
from sceptical approximations to a profound science.
With concrete theories postulated about its origin
measurement of time evolved too.
A day seemed to have a lot more time then,
relaxed carefree moments, now only a memory.
Days and years, a lose connotation of time in history,
is now dissected to milli, micro and nano seconds,
precision being paramount.
Today time’s shadow, has eclipsed man’s life.
His journey from the cradle to grave
is a constant run against the clock
that oscillates between the hanging dagger of time.
Passages ….. By Susi Bocks
time ticks by second by second
flowing into the next hour
as it leads one to days
days become weeks
weeks turn into years
and years eventually become our end
every being experiences
the components of time
but will they be blessed with romance
or suffer with strife
choosing to engage heartily in joyous emotions
or be reduced to overflowing tears
will they experience all things possible
mentally, physically and emotionally
in the journey they embark on
or will their life’s moments feel like a burden
in the seconds, hours, days, weeks and years
before time has run out

Understanding Time ..by Jim Adams
Electrons are always moving. They spin very quickly around the nucleus of an atom. As the electrons zip around, they can move in any direction, as long as they stay in their shell. Electrons can move in any direction you can imagine. Electrons are constantly spinning in those atomic shells and those shells, or orbitals, are specific distances from the nucleus. A guy named Schrödinger started realizing that all electrons weren’t the same and they didn’t move in the same way. The mathematics describing the vibratory patterns that define the states of atoms in quantum mechanics is identical to that which describes the resonance of musical instruments. Eventually it was found that all forces in nature can be classified into four types. The gravitational force holds together the universe at large, plus the atmosphere, water, and us to the planet Earth. The electromagnetic force governs atomic level phenomena, binding electrons…

Me ….. By Punam
Don’t miss this brilliant piece.
Proud and unbending; that is me
and see how you are soaring with my support
I had been very clear from the beginning
you don’t have to be rich to be my girl
you don’t have to be cool to rule my world
but you have to be malleable to my way of thinking
had I been an emotional cesspool like you
we both would have wallowed in nothingness
It has taken me years to mould you
to change your internal wiring
and erase your history of pliancy
I don’t care if I sound immodest
that I pulled you back from the brink
of being an average, anonymous person
if you are admired today and eulogized
it is because appearances matter
they see just the surface; tranquil and beautiful
they can’t see the turbidity beneath
let’s not go there and let’s not talk of
bruised self respect and things inconsequential

A Summer Lily ……. by Aishwarya

My first winter away,
Away from scorching sun and light,
I oohed and aahed,
Over a flake of snow that landed on my hands,
guarded and guarded,
Lest I lost the precious one.
My first winter away,
Away from home to be with you,
I oohed and aahed,
Over your assuring charming self,
magical and magical,
To be with you.
Yet these many winters later,
You choose to be with another,
Choosing her over me,
You see my unbending self, as a streak of arrogance,
My unbending self which was a shield over you through bright spring and summers,
My unbending self which was a reassurance through cold autumns and winters.
Yet these many winters later,
You choose to be with another,
Ignoring the times I bent to take care of you,
Ignoring the times I bent myself to stand by you,
I rue not…

Indira’s take on Exploration Challenge #171
We have a dialogue prompt this week ….with a twist.
What is the twist?
You need to take it forward from the perspective of the opposite gender, not yours.
Woman-: And I always thought it was you, secretly helping and supporting me against all the odds.’
‘I can’t be grateful enough for it.’
Man- ‘It was me indeed… watching you stand there proud and unbending… with my support.
I had foreseen the potential in you.
I knew that a little support will take you a long way. I did never let you know about my help and support lest it hampers your self-esteem. Mentioned it now because you did.’
Her acceptance brought tears to his eyes.
Who doesn’t likes a little appreciation, acknowledgment, and gratitude?
Never forget .
Just show it, man!
