Reena’s Xploration Challenge | Day Job

Day Job ….. by Emine Beasley

Emine L.A. Beasley's avatarEmine Beasley

For Reena’s Xploration Challenge #179 I was given the last line…

If I’m God, why do I need a bird’s eye view?

“Dear God...”
I am asked for everything

As I sit above the city
Looking down on simple civilisation
A map illuminated on my table

I move resources
Apprehend criminals
Water plants and tidy streets

I try my best to do all I can for this city
Yet I still get so many prayers come in

Some simple for health and food
Some for nicer homes and hotter wives

But houses and wives don’t grow on trees
And no I can’t magic those trees into existence

If there were no poor there couldn’t be rich
If some didn’t die from disease then they would never find a cure

They worship me even though some question my existence
They call me God but I am not what they imagine

If…

Women, you are not special

Empowered Women's avatarEmpowered Women

The Creator wanted a connected universe, for reasons unknown to us. So, two prototypes were created, who completed each other in certain ways, and created more living beings, that were jointly owned by both. This created a basic unit of living beings called ‘family’, that owed their existence to each other, and were safer and happier in a connected state. The state of connectivity, then, spread across the world, in several expanded versions. Belonging and loyalty to one unit, created competition and conflict with others, and led to the negative emotion of hatred. The consequent myriad shades and levels of existence, form the world, as it is today.

And where are you, Woman ? At the center of the universe, but looking at yourself through the eyes of others ? Where are YOU ? Who are YOU ? Beyond the various roles that nature and society have imposed on you…

Reena is the host of Reena’s Exploration Challenge

Welcome back!

PROMPT #178

I give you the last line …

If I’m God, why do I need a bird’s eye view?

Write the remaining piece as you like, but it has to end with this line. It is okay, if the line appears more than once in the piece, in the beginning, or middle, but it has to be there at the end.

♾♾♾

I lift my joined hands in a prayer

I ask You for Your help in trouble

You the Almighty, the all powerful

You know what’s in my heart and mind

God, the all knowing, Omnipotent, Omnipresent

Before we know what’s in our thoughts, You know

Before it befalls us, it is in Your knowledge

No detail, big or small escapes Your eyes

I bring my prayers and pleas to you

It is in my prayer that I…

P.C :- Jasmin Chew

If I’m God, why do I need a bird’s eye view?

They said,

From above he watches our every move,

Every deed, good or bad,

Every act, conscious or unconscious,

Every truth, every lie,

Would meet its appropriate end, someday.

If I’m God, why do I need a bird’s eye view?

Swirling the world seems,

Under the canopy of thousand stars,

Like a swish off a magician’s wand,

Years seem to flow,

Yet a day seems incredibly long, sometimes,

Fossils trust their mark on indifferent ever changing sands of time.

If I’m God, why do I need a bird’s eye view?

Up an aeroplane I go,

And man appears minuscule,

From even the highest peak on Earth,

Stars appear similarly small,

A petite mother crow nurtures courage,

To win against a mighty eagle, for her offsprings.

If I’m God, why do I need a…

Oh man, you are so vain
you think you are so clever
you want redemption,
but do not pay your due

you wantonly disobeyed me
and ate the forbidden fruit
but do you think you could
if I did not want you to

you have CCTV cameras
to spy on thy neighbour
yet, the temerity to think
I don’t have technology too

I am the lord and master
as I will, so you do
If I’m God, why do I
need a bird’s eye view

A Prayer

A prayer ….
by Happy Soul

HappySoul's avatarLive Love Laugh Learn

The balance in the ecosystem
Was hampered by man’s deeds
The earth tried to tell us
‘To a disaster, this leads’

From centuries its happenings
Pandemics are trying to teach
For us Homo sapiens here
Learning seems out of reach

A minuscule virus stepped in!
To handle it we dint know!
“Karma bites” nature’s saying;
“You reap what you sow”!

To the universe I bow
With prayer on my mind
“Fill us all with healing power
You are our hope, please be kind”

“Fill us with peace, fill us with love
Forgive us for causing you pain
Hold us Mother Earth in your embrace
Give us a chance to nurture you again!”

In response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge : Karma Bites and Sadje’s What do you see prompt. Thank you both for hosting these prompts. Thank you all for stopping by ..

Tumble dry, tumble dry

Tumble dry, tumble dry ….. by Aishwarya

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

Till the Sun’s on a holiday,

Tumble dry, tumble dry,

Covers, shirts, saris,

Lacking energy go in all dejected,

Rejuvenated from a steamy spray come out with energy interjected,

Covers, shirts, saris,

Take with them for a short unintended stroll,

Papers, doddles, currencies, and when the cycle ends,

An unimaginable form to their poor pals rendered.

Carelessness, absent- mindedness, impatience,

One or all it may be,

When all of them work in fine tide,

Results may be hilarious or note worthy,

So it was, when all the clothes decided to go for a spin one wintry noon,

They sneaked in their dear friend for an impromptu stroll,

It wasn’t until they came out, excited,

As if from a day out at the spa,

Their animated glare,

Accompanied by a far off faintly blare,

A sheepish grin,

In return for a text that flashed across their friend, Mr Mobile’s screen,

Before…
