Life’s milestones …..by Radhika
Bubbly baby’s progress defines
growing up milestones
painted in playful contours
in a blissful innocent world.
Teenage years chart a new course
mark the many firsts…a date, a kiss
romantic crush or rebellious streak
friends and ambition play a pivotal role
zeal to accomplish inks the milestones.
With a step into the professional world,
life ebbs into a comfort zone
many settle to the society’s norms
honor the events that unfold in due course
targets at work and family goals, outline the milestones.
Fading twilight waits for the ebony sky
to move on, into a destination unknown.
A glance into life’s rear view mirror reflects
celebration of life with its many milestones.
The heart whispers a thanksgiving prayer!
Golden Milestone …. by Jim Adams
I have been making posts on WordPress every day and I never get any of those consecutive streak notifications, although I have read many posts where other people get them. They send out these milestone notifications to encourage bloggers to keep on blogging here on WordPress. Right now, WordPress says that I have 1336 followers and so far, today I have published 5 posts and I have received 238 views, but this also includes older posts that I made. Today I got 115 visitors, which have viewed my posts with an average 2.07 times per visitor and I don’t think that any of these statistics are a milestone for me.
Out of the posts that I wrote today, Thursday Inspiration #103 Just Like A Woman has been the most popular getting 24 views. G is for Galveston got 13 views, What the Flock got 10, It Breaks My Heart received…

I dos I donts …. by Eugenia

marry, remarry, finding the right one
a novel notion, rev your locomotion
once, twice, three times a charm
institution, celebration, devotion
long term, short term, uncharm?
loyal, disloyal, unfair usage
kids, no kids, pets, no pets
shopping, cleaning, take out the garbage
finances, worries, too many debts
customs, rules, attitudes, beliefs
wedlock, united, forever together
commitment, sharing, some need relief
disquiet and angst, under the weather
best be sure before tying the not
pleasure, displeasure, whatever, whenever
life’s gonna change, ready or not

Targets ….by Susi Bocks
go for it
follow your instincts
put your pedal to the metal
full steam ahead
no one tells you as you do
that struggling is a part of the journey
it’s hard work
chasing your dreams
i hope you remember
to be playful and filled with joy
as you hit all those milestones
the markers of your success
Have you heard about the story of a group of blind men visiting an elephant to find out what it was like?? ‘The blind men and an elephant’ is one of my favourites, and I often share it with my students to introduce them to the concept of perception. On one occasion, while sharing it in a lecture, I found myself in a difficult situation. That story I would like to keep for later blogging!!!
The Parable, “the blind men and an elephant”, is known to have originated from the Buddhist era in Indian folk stories. Different versions and interpretations of the same story are available, but I stick with my story; that is how four visually challenged men went to see (hypothetically) an elephant.
There lived four friends who were visually challenged, in a village and heard a lot about an animal called an…

Indira’s take on Xploration Challenge #179
I give you the last line …
If I’m God, why do I need a bird’s eye view?
What do you do if you see your creation has gone berserk?
Just watch and let them do whatever they like?
The very first mistake was to assume that your creatures will behave as you like though in the beginning it was like that.
I happily watched them play, prey, fight, love according to my rules.
I let myself became one with all forgetting that you have to keep yourself at a distance in order to keep an eye on them so they don’t misbehave.
My fault.
Now they are fighting with each other like hell. I need to watch them from a distance to find the real cause of their destructive behavior, to find the real culprits and punish them.
Hope you all understand and don’t…

If Man was God …by Aishwarya
If Man was God,
Imagine how he’d lord,
He’d drop pennies as a blessing through Gpay wallets,
He’d surprise us on our birthdays with Zomato cakes,
He’d entertain us through Co(s)mic nights,
He’d take us anywhere with Google Maps to cite,
He’d post our achievements on Twitter handles,
He’d personally reprimand us through his channels,
He’d build boundaries over the cosmos,
He’d elongate life span concocting potions farther most,
Satisfyingly mystified,
He would then proclaim with everything under his purview,
If I’m God, why do I need a bird’s eye view?

Words to guide me ….by VJ Knutson
Mother I feel you under my feet…

Mother I hear your heartbeat…

Mother I see you when the eagle flies…

Mother please take me higher…

Lens-artists Photo Challenge this week is a ‘you pick’. Reena’s Xploration challenge is a sentence to be used at the end of the post. I am indeed challenged by Reena’s words.
Joan Osborne’s words come to me:
What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin’ to make his way home?
A spiritual teacher and mentor once counselled that to live a sacred life, I should look for God in all I meet. Using the prayer/ ritual above, I approach nature in this way. ‘Higher’ to me speaks not to a place above it all, but a loving, compassionate response to life.
If I’m God, why do I need a bird’s eye…
