People like to group things when they perceive similarities or differences, and this helps to satisfy their need for understanding why things belong together, or why they don’t.  By arranging certain objects in a systematic manner, that makes them easier to handle.  When things are organized into groups, the properties of an object are illustrated more clearly and then you can contrast and compare these objects.  Humans see organized patterns in almost everything that we look at, and this is because our minds tend to detect and classify things based on certain rules.  A collage assembles different things together, and by doing this, it creates a new form of art, which is supposed to convey a message or an idea.

Let’s try to find the message here with the faded out black and white picture of the girl with the big lips wearing a bandana being shown with Stuart the…

Screams Under The Supermoon

Screams under the Super Moon …. by Susie Bocks

Inspired by Reena’s Exploration Challenge #235 & Eugenia’s Weekly Prompt – Strawberry Moon

A blood-tinged orb in the sky preceded the night’s events, foreshadowing death and destruction as the night unfolded; they chilled me to the core.

Bodies with deep, savage cuts, leaking their lives onto the grass, were littered everywhere—the green of the strawberry fields hidden beneath gallons of blood spilled.

My heart rate pulsed considerably higher than usual, my exhilaration palpable as I plotted the details of my next novel. With each sickening paragraph of the gore expressed, I felt more and more diabolical.

Sometimes, even I am afraid of the things my mind comes up with. How sick am I?

Monotony

Monotony …by Aishwarya

Monotony is meditation,

Monotony is meaningful,

Monotony is activity,

Monotony is anchor,

Monotony is life,

Monotony has a pattern,

Monotony means earth and sky,

Monotony means night and day,

Monotony means black and white,

When in unmindfulness, I see mindfulness,

When in stillness, I see conversations,

When in isolation, I see dreams,

Then I’d be celebrating monotony and not complaining.

Isolation, Communication, Conversations

Isolation, Communication, Conversations … by Artie

artiecamenzind's avatarArtie & Stu

Over ridges folds sands of memories
within time’s machine I reinvent myself
I was loved and I loved
then abused by intent, by indifference
connections seal moments eternal in amber
while goodness taken for granted fails
how good we had it then
but I barely knew the difference
I reach now, will you back?

The Saturday Symphony #29 Inner Child #JuneEdition

The Saturday Symphony …. by Jude Itakali

judeitakali's avatarTales Told Different

Hey everyone,
Welcome to the 29th edition of The Saturday Symphony. This is a monthly feature with its roots in giving back to the blogging community.
This June, we indulge our inner child.

We are all born as creatives, molded in the image of the Great Creator. But somewhere along the road, we abandon our inner child.

Paraphrased from The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron

Well, the good news is that everyone on my wordpress is bristling with creativity. In this June edition, may we break the mental piggy bank, buy a bunch of candy, cakes, gold and silver stars, then dust old favourite toys, and let our inner child sparkle.

Silly slimy snail
with a pretty shiny shell
how slow you move
how boring you are
So I drink my chocolate milk
and take a nice quick snooze
to wake and find you gone
to where I only imagine

Prophecy

A brilliant Prophecy…

the blighter's rock's avatarthe blighters rock

the birds are restless
a new breeze from the mountains
tells of tomorrow.

thus the ravens cry
and call to the eastern skies
spare us from our fates.

the gods listen not
for what to come is written,
on an omen’s wind.

their wings rise no more
black feathers scattered and torn
the future has passed

I need to talk to you!

Too busy to talk …. by Sadje

Sadje/ Sadie's avatarKeep it alive

The theme for RXC#234 is

Isolation, Communication, Conversations

You get the drift. Come up with wherever your thought process takes you.

➰➰➰

( I wrote this post in October’18 and it fits perfectly with this week’s theme, so I sharing it again with a few changes!)

How many times in a week/ month, does it happen? We are planning to talk to a loved one and then get caught up in something and either forget or postpone it for tomorrow!

Time seems to be the enemy of family ties! There is work, studies, or social commitments. It is like a race that we are constantly running and the time usually wins.

It’s usually okay with our immediate family where through constant reminders and struggle with schedules we manage to make that ballet practice or the little league match. Anniversaries and birthdays are often remembered with the help of phone reminders…

Alone In A Crowd

AlwaysARose (ChelleBee)

Summary:

Written for:
https://reinventionsreena.wordpress.com/2022/06/09/reenas-xploration-challenge-234/
where the theme given was isolation, communication, conversation

She was one of many people walking down the rose-edged path.
She was surrounded by conversations, but had no communication
with anybody. Nobody paid the slightest attention to her.

When she got home, she purposely misquoted Wordsworth in her journal:
“I wandered lonely in a crowd….and I’ve never had such a feeling of isolation.”

Nightmare (A Modified Haibun)

Nightmare – a modified haibun — by Mich Navajas

Nightmare (A Modified Haibun)

the night is still, peaceful, tranquil, and calm. but i can hear the howling blowing of the wind. the sound of the night owl is barely even audible as i could only hear the fast beating of my heart.

i keep my silence, i ignore, i don’t care as my phone keeps ringing and keeps bugging me. i know what you want and you will not get it from me. not now not in the future.

i keep my distance. i stay away. that’s what i do to people who turned their backs on me when i needed them the most.

so if you have been trying to reach out and you don’t hear from me, you know why. i am not mad or angry. you just don’t exist in my world anymore.

the dream you promised

is a horrible nightmare

i didn’t see it
