Playful connections….by Ken Hume
For this week’s XplorationChallenge, Reena has provided us with a video on the theme of happiness & being in the presentmoment. She encouraged us to watch it; reflect on it & write a Stream ofConsciousness piece on it. Below lies my contribution, hope you all enjoy the read! 👇👇🙏🤞😁📖
PLAYFUL CONNECTION WITH OTHER PEOPLE
Staying in the present moment has always been a challenge for me with my mind constantly racing forward & back between the next day’s or next week’s activities/schedule or rehashing the previous day’s mistakes; stupid things I’ve said or jobs left undone. It’s a never ending cycle of could have done’s; should’ve done’s; what will I do & what if it doesn’t work out. It can be pretty exhausting! Over thinking and over analysis have always stole away any possibility of real happiness & contentment or of actually enjoying the moment…

Happiest when I’m with you
Sun’s bright and the sky is blue
Always in a euphoric trance
In the clouds and on air we dance
Challenges we can take together
Fighting our way through life whenever
Seeing the joy and delight in each one
Travelling, swimming, biking and have fun*
*Con-Verse

Envelope ourselves with compassion
When conformity nowadays is in fashion
All these hardship and challenges we feel
The burning enthusiasm, merciless zeal
Would be great to follow our passion
Some people survive with their ration
In poverty, some faces turned ashen
And in kind hearts we want to appeal
Envelope ourselves
Keep out of danger, seatbelts we fasten
Choices we make, innovation or cash in
On gentle breeze, with steady keel
Empathy and compassion we feel
Harmony is such one big fashion
Envelope ourselves*

Where Stories Can Spark Their Magic
Once upon a time…
Fixing what could have been meant to be
But was given to me on a day and that was the start of me were growing up I often thought gifts were deceiving and that each time someone who wanted to give me something there was always a catch behind it and even though someone wanted to give me anything I wanted I always rejected it because maybe I have been through a lot and just never wanted to accept it and yes, I know happiness is a long way down the zip line and if I don’t take a risk I may not cross the line to the other side, but I do miss you as I always seem to say every day about the anonymous person who seems to have gone away, but I still feel like they are close and even though I never…

(It’s one of my early posts. I think you will see a difference in the style of writing. I made no changes!)
Who doesn’t want to be happy? We all do! But what exactly is happiness? Happiness is described as a state of being happy!!! And then again, what is being happy? Happy is equivalent to a state of joy or pleasure
.
So now that we know what is the emotion that is happiness, how to achieve it? And why do we have to attain this state of mind?
The usual expectation people have about a good life is, that it is a happy life. I agree with you and so would about 99% of people in this world. But what makes a person happy is a big variable. If riches are one person’s…

Finding more happiness — by Jim Adams
It is thought that happiness comes from three things, those being genetics, circumstances, and values, but I think of it as more of a personal choice where we can all decide if we want to be happy or not in life. Different things will make different people happy, whether that involves having money, or spending time with their loved ones, first we have to figure out how pleasure works. Dopamine is most notably involved in helping us feel pleasure as part of the brain’s reward system. Having sex, going shopping, or smelling cookies that are baking in the oven can all trigger a dopamine release, or a dopamine rush. This feel-good neurotransmitter is also involved in reinforcement. Neurons in the region at the base of the brain produce dopamine communicating messages between nerve cells in your brain and your brain and the rest of your body.
American ideals include life…

Chasing Happiness ….. by Diana Coombes

Written in response https://reinventionsreena.wordpress.com/2023/03/23/reenas-xploration-challenge-273/
She was chasing happiness, like a kite, flying high in the sky. The wind blew it in every direction, through the clouds, and falling back to earth. Alone, happiness was short lived. The kite never seemed to gain the height it needed to. Her legs were never quite fast enough to keep up.
With children, grandchildren, her other (sometimes better) half, the kite travelled further, higher, reaching the stars almost. It was through their laughter, she managed to stay sane. When happiness got stuck in a tree, it was her daughter who brought it back down again. When twisting around in circles, it was her husband, taking it by the string, to stop it. As the string got tangled, working together with her granddaughter fixed it again.
Happiness, a kite with ribbon, and string, cost barely pennies, yet every year, just like the crabbing net, brought…

Coasting …. by Susi Bocks

Inspired by Reena’s Exploration Challenge #273 & Moonwashed Weekly Prompt – Willy Nilly
trapped in our own space
listlessly tossed about in uncharted territory
letting depression and anxiety set in deeper
watching what happiness we had drained
if only something forced us to interact willy-nilly
what with our sanity at stake
but would we listen?
