Am I my thoughts?

Am I my thoughts? ….by Sadje

Here’s a video for you to ponder on – Understanding Dark Thoughts

Thoughts intrude

Intrudein solitude

Solitude shaken

Shaken by darkness

Darkness not intentional

Intentional thoughts fleeting

Fleeting where hard to catch

Catch only the tail end

Tail end of a raging storm

Storm that don’t materialize

Materialize only in dreams

Dreams turn into nightmares

Nightmares evolve into ghosts

Ghosts of past, present and future

Future holds the keys

Keys to unbidden thoughts

Thoughts intrude unbidden

Happy or sad- they aren’t really me!

Darkness must flow …. by Destiny

Reena welcomes all to another week of thoughtfulness and creativity!

Prompt : Understanding Dark Thoughts

again… another loooong one… skip if you please… I really won’t mind 😁😉

stagnant in darkness
refusing to surface
searching a corner
cursing brightness
shunning all values
questioning knowledge
clarity fumbling
sanity weeps
reason abandoned
weakness ugly
eyes closed
sinister images
daylight hours
nightmare follows
purpose questioned
breathing painful
and then a terrible
numb feeling
so much too little
high on confusion… but

darkness too begins to hurt
options still seem so few
the light’s also vague too
questions and questions
no answers too

combine the two
but then how too…

let the darkness flow
with the help of light

… meditate…

perhaps it’s that moment
when we combine the two
we might just realise
dark and light
are friends not foes
together they work
to help us…

A Broken Lonely Soul’s Soliloquy

A Broken Lonely Soul’s Soliloquy — by Michelle Ayon Navajas

michnavs's avatarmichnavs

And so, it’s a lie.

I know I said I will take a break, a breather; but oh well, I guess I cannot take a break from writing, because writing has always been my “break”, my “breather”, and my “comfort”. Writing, (my poetry) in particular has never left my side – it is the only constant thing that I have that doesn’t forsake me, judge me, and speak ill of me regardless of and no matter what.

Some things and opportunities just come and go; my poetry stays

My poetry has and will always be the only one who never castigate me for not being the human being everyone expects me to become. I am me and I am who I am.

Some people can easily judge you and speak ill about you – let them be, that’s what makes them happy: making other people seemed to be wrong when…

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue: Unsaid Thoughts Turned Into Unsaid Letters

Roses are red, violets are blue …. by Rockstar Girl

Rockstar Girl's avatarWhere Stories Can Spark Their Magic

In the head space I never thought was real or exposed but through my writing I found the unsaid letters that started out as silent words of mysteries where someone never had the greatest of mind to see what goes through my mind but as I go back there are thoughts through the music that I sometimes cannot control and some are just an anger feeling of what the past had put me through to where I speak out in reality where it seems like I am drawing a blank because my head space seems so scattered and uncontrolled where the rain are the unsaid letters of drops of blood that comes from my veins which go to my head like roses that have been sitting for days inside of the sand waiting…

Disturbing Thoughts

Disturbing Thoughts …. by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

Everyone has dark thoughts from time to time which can be upsetting or strange, not making a lot of sense, but this is normal as long as you don’t act on them.  Intrusive thoughts have a way of popping into our heads all the time, like they are coming out of thin air.  Most people can’t help what their minds think about and although we are aware of a tiny fraction of the thinking that goes on in our minds, we can only control a tiny part of our conscious thoughts.  The vast majority about 95 percent of brain activity related to our thinking efforts goes on subconsciously.  Unwanted thoughts are an extremely common symptom of anxiety disorders.  Problems, stress and frustration have a way of bubbling over and manifesting into our thoughts and our brains tend to spit out the most inappropriate things.  It’s part of human nature to…

Turtle Lamp

Turtle Lamp … Artie & Stu

artiecamenzind's avatarArtie & Stu

Weed your garden well, she said her aunt told her, in a dream but also when she was a girl. She said she was asking herself what did it mean. Why her aunt and what it meant. She’d forgiven everyone and emptied her home of all that gave it meaning. She moved to Florida and sent everyone a postcard when she got there. She said come visit. She had a stained glass turtle lamp. There was nothing else familiar. She decorated the entire condo with that little floor nightlight as seeming inspiration. Not that it was all turtles, but the colors and feel of the curtains, the sofa, the table, chairs and murals on the walls. Even the dinnerware. There was a pond outside. She sat in a wicker chair with light blue cushions. She watched vibrant birds, tiny darting lizards and large leaping frogs populating the pond. But no…

IMPOTENCE- Reena’s Xploration Challenge#284

Impotence ….by Indira

Indira's avatarSharing Thoughts

Prompt #284

I give you a line that can be used anywhere in your piece. The idea of a first line or last line becomes too restrictive.

She’d forgiven everyone and emptied her home of all that gave it meaning.

——————————————————————————

IMPOTENCE

My friend comes declaring,

( We both are over 70)
‘She’d forgiven everyone and emptied her home of all that gave it meaning.’

She plans to retire and join a meditation camp.

It has become a routine.
She does it often.
She says how peaceful and calm she feels.
Then, after a few days…
Something happens either in her life, neighborhood, or country, and her peace of mind and confidence are shattered.
She comes running, declaring war.
‘ I want to shoot all those bas…ds.’
‘Do these  mad dogs deserve to live?’
The media is ablaze with the news of some…

A Final Use

A Final Use …
By tiredhamster

tiredhamster's avatarVery Important Stuff Here

Another thing is removed
from their world. Yes, they are
mere things, they know this,
but their value is not yet
done. However, the hand
has to free itself, grasping
the lamp, the pictures,
the tapes, all things suffused
with memory, and pulls them
towards emptiness. Soon,
all these objects will just be
mere objects, demolished
and deformed, living dark
beneath nameless heaps.
And now the rooms are
empty of desire, the objects
and their master gone
as the dust reclines within
a space the years no longer
intrude.

Time Doesn’t Heal All Wounds

Time doesn’t heal all wounds ….by Mich Navajas

michnavs's avatarmichnavs

Time Doesn’t Heal All Wounds

she’d forgiven everyone
and emptied her home
of all that gave it meaning;
that’s how it was,
and that’s how it will be,
you don’t assume she’d forgotten
all that you have done;
the hurt?
no dear, it’s still there
the pain?
yes, it’s even painful this time
the humiliation?
of course, she remembers
the bitter fun?
you think it was funny?
she remembers –
and oh, in case you’ve forgotten
time they say heals all wounds?
nahh, it isn’t true,
for she can still feel
every bit of scratch you made,
every bit of twitch you created,
every bit of cut you inflicted,
time doesn’t heal all wounds
it may take off a part of the wound
but it never heals the pain;
time is not a healer,
not a surgeon,
not a doctor;
you’ve hurt her –
she remembers; always
you’ve caused her…
