Paranoia (?)

Horror stories of abuse and violence against women have been lurking around since time immemorial.

Abuse could come in many forms. The most rampant and the one that I’ve been very vocal about is the abuse in the form of sexual assault or we gravely call it as rape.

I don’t think I need to go graphic in order for us all to understand what rape is. But for the sake of discussion, it is defined by the dictionary as “a type of sexual assault involving sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without their consent.”

The key word is “consent“. Consent is giving permission for something to happen. A sexual act without consent is “rape,” it’s that simple, basic. NO IS NO. NO MEANS NO.

One of the reasons we ended up on the boat from 2014 to 2017 was because house prices were getting away from us, and buying a narrow boat was a better alternative than renting somewhere.

Something went wrong when this phrase is uttered, making you an unhappy camper, agitated, disappointed, discontent, displeased, dissatisfied, frustrated, or unfulfilled.  Computer problems tend to make me unhappy and basically any type of waiting that seems to be wasting my time will upset me.  The thing that really gets to me most is hackers, as I feel that they are the scum of the earth.  A hacker would never appologize for making money by stealing your passwords, accessing your bank or credit card details, holding your information for ransom, or selling your data to other hackers that are on the dark web.  I wonder if Chatbots will become the new hackers exploiting a weakness in everyone’s computer system, so they can be used for malicious purposes.  I look at hackers as being intelligent people that just seem to be too lazy to get a real job, but I think that they also…

sunshine interrupts rain

accidents threaten well-being
teaching us valuable lessons

life is a basket of variables
deserving of discernment

next steps are crucial
our existence depends on it

Pent up emotions

Mother of dark thoughts

Dark thoughts fear

Nothing more than

A courageous person

They chase

You face them

They back off

baby in the
overhead compartment.

Throw the cat in the garbage can.
See faces on the shelves.
It’s okay in
your head.

I wrote this for Reena’s Xploration Challenge, using the video that she provided for inspiration. It is a mirror cinquain, but I didn’t do the syllable stresses. Can’t be bothered right now.

there’s a TV against a wall
a sound box perching up on top
when I look around I see
the dregs of recent days
curling up in each stray corner

my table is invisible beneath paper
and the futon wears those clothes of mine
that are waiting for an ironing
when the cleaner comes
on Friday in a week or so

sometimes at night
I make the music cry out loud
so I can dance alone
in the spaces left upon the carpet beige
under a faded light from the weak-watt globes
that hardly shine enough
to show me where my feet should go
so I don’t stumble or maybe fall

even in my small domain there’s danger
of a stumble or a fall
if I’m careless or unwary
when the music cries
and I’m dancing
all alone

Still wrapped up in your blanket 
you're touched 
by shiny strings of the sun strumming your wake up call

In adagio you unravel, petal by petal 
stretching to the beckoning sky in gentle joy

On a mat of green sepals you sit to meditate
curling your toes in for a padmasana

Are to be loved in secret
Between the shadow and the soul”
From a poppy seed to certain flings
Nothing to whirl and have that strut
On both mind and body it takes its toll

I stand fending off the raven and crow
The candle with cinnamon and orange
Colourful buttons forming a heart
Pulling me with such alarming glow
Clumsy molecules but what a challenge
I shout in my heart that you’re also a part

Love soars from earth to infinity
For love of love, or heart’s solitude
Who cry for shadows and cannot tell
Begrudge I come with a plea
Never a sunny day for a feud
Tried to stifle the thoughts and quell
