She is….

She is …. by Team Follow Through

She is fierce, but she is also kind.

She is a fortress, but she will let you in.

She is grasping, but she is willing to give.

She jumps hurdles, but she steadily stays the course.

Her abilities are impressive, but she is the embodiment of humility.

She remains true to herself, but she loves others wholeheartedly.

She cries sometimes, but her laughter cannot be contained.

She will perplex you, but she has all the answers.

You cannot help but admire her, love her and respect her.

She is woman.

Corporate Inequality

Corporate Inequality – a slice of bitter truth, by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

Wore green shoes –
a shock of colour
to highlight business –
attire aimed to succeed.

Walked ten blocks
rode fourteen floors
passed security,
heels continually clicking.

Navigating male-dominated
passages, I was driven
ignored patronizing comments
exercised for corporate ladder

But the lies, the betrayal,
the dirty little secrets,
they taunted me –
sold me out in back rooms

Broke under pressure
vile accusations, improper
propositions – How did
gender equate with progress

How did firmness of pert
breasts, the flash of muscled
calves, exempt me from rising –
Why should my efforts fall short

By refusals to drop my panties
and who could I go to –
boss and boss’s boss
all male, in on the plots

Big business banking –
financially fruitful
personally demoralizing –
I walked away, morals intact.

PROMPT #125

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #125
~*~

They say

She is weak

She needs a man

A father, a husband, a son

To carry her burden in life

She says

If men were ones to give birth

The human race would have died long ago

If men were the ones to hold the family together

The concept of families would be long dead

She not only a woman

She is a superwoman

Doing the work of ten people simultaneously

Yet managing to hold her job as well

She carries the weight of her world on her shoulders

And smiles

Femininity

Femininity ….. by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

She was afraid that her top would come undone, so she tested out her bathing suit under a torrent of water and to her surprise it held up.  She was not sure if she should embrace or conceal her feminine traits.  She loved the way her new bathing suit looked on her, but it was so revealing and she was basically a shy girl.  She wore it because it was in style, and girls all across the country started wearing bikinis.  She thought about wearing it as a mutiny against her parents, as her mom preferred her to wear more subdued clothing, which always made her feel as though her body was something to be ashamed of, and this caused her a lot of humiliation.  The suit would work out great for being in the water, but it did not hide an inch of her body, instead it exposed so…

Courageous Clarice

I’ve never seen a boss as evil as Sanjeet Anand. If he decided to destroy someone, he would, for no reason and revel in pure joy. It was performance appraisal time, and he used decimal points in the excel sheet in a manner, that the score of people he did not like fell below the … Continue reading Courageous Clarice
