Echoes of escapism

Denying his hollowness he looks for people who engage with inane stuff say ‘you’re great’. Failing to find a purpose in life he averts eyes from real  inner problems. He loves worlds Which echo escapism “Bumming around, eh? Wish I was in your place…” https://dversepoets.com/2020/08/24/quadrille-110-shall-we-bum-around-a-bit/

Sometimes

Sometimes ……… by Punam

Sometimes hope dangles by a slim thread
I cling to it tenaciously
But the thread does break at crucial times

Sometimes the truth punches me in the gut
Breathless and beaten, I still get up
But the urge to lay sucker punched is too strong

Sometimes optimism sits timidly at my door
I have to let it in
But pessimism gives it a vicious fight

Sometimes I wonder if it is all worth it
But then I need something to live for
Or do I?

Is Optimism Enough?

Is Optimism Enough? ………. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

Are you happy?

The question hits
my gut,
slingshots
down the hall
deadends

Of course, I respond.

What else can I say…
Sure life needs tweaking…
I am learning to be better…
I can make this work…

Why?  What do see?
Thoughts unspoken
but the bell has been rung…

I stopped on hearing strange sounds emanating from my phone. “Release me. You have no rights to hold me captive. Aaaahhhh….” … Continue reading Mysterious Apple
