It has been six hours since we got lost.… We are playing a game for a TV show, buddy! Dan was irritated. But I don’t see the cameras following us… I think I heard the buzz of a drone. I’m on the verge of giving up… I can sense that. But, hey, look there … … Continue reading Next Show #writephoto

Fragrance of optimism

Fragrance of optimism ….. by Aishwarya

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

Radiating,

Shimmering brightness,

Portal to a thousand expressions,

Eyes that see everything outside,

Longing in,

Those beauties,

That see hardly any occasion,

To meet each other,

Paving,

Gate to different destinations,

Clear path,

Tracks that run on parallel lines,

Near,

Yet so far,

They, which don’t find any reason,

To converge,

Eyes that don’t see each other,

Appreciates wonderful vistas of world,

Rather than long for each other’s visual.

Tracks that don’t converge,

Appreciates to be part of each other’s journey,

Rather than their union.

Long as mind maps positivity,

Priding on triumph over obstacles,

Fragrance of optimistic today, certain.

100 words.

I don’t know how banned drugs made an appearance, and soon the party was going from whacky to wild to uncontrollable. And then, the unspeakable crime happened. The … Continue reading Night of horror

Going back

“Haven’t we done this before?” The look in her eyes was defiant. “What? Driving me round the bend?” “Why doesn’t the message go through your thick head that you cannot dominate or manipulate me?” “Is that the way you talk to your father?” “Well… you know better.” His entire life floated in front of his … Continue reading Going back

Forward Movement

It was their first performance, and life would never be the same again. She did the Power Pose, Bhramari Pranayam (yogic method to clarify thought) and a quick reverse reading to forget all that had gone by, before she delivered her best on stage. It was not easy to forget all that she had left … Continue reading Forward Movement

Selling pain

Her autobiography is being published long after the star is dead. Somehow, she could not muster the courage to expose her wounds to the world. Celebrityhood imposes certain expectations - of always looking flawless, born privileged and made of stardust. She was made of blazing sun rays, not stardust. The fire had burnt non-stop to … Continue reading Selling pain

Medium

There is a peculiar Indian term "wheatish complexion" used for medium skin tones. This poem is about a father's hopes for his bright daughter, who does not rank high on the 'light skin' scales. Her smiles lovelier than  flowers  in full bloom brighten my day more than the sun her almond eyes twinkle with mirth, … Continue reading Medium
