You were Love

You entered our lives 20 years ago, and we learnt what unconditional love means. You spent a little more than three years sharing our abode, and then left us forever. Doors and blades of grass ….by Jude Itakali

#writephoto

Once, we painted the door to shared dreams of two
Unloved, it now reminds me of you
Fades of time corrode its sheen
Too long left unseen
Glum relic
Pinned
Pedantic
with hope grating thin
My soul barters for its queen
Must I swap new greens for an old blue
Or evolve, to sparkle in different hues

Great expectations
On the tip of a lone gaze
longing for the stars
I stretch for the heighest leaf
When grass below has all I need

P.C :- KL Caley; #writephoto

When blood becomes stranger,

when teardrop becomes stain,

when denial becomes acceptance,

when open doors become shut forever,

when trust becomes thorns,

when truth becomes textured fantasy,

when life becomes lost memory,

In that one moment,

I realise,

that whole life was a lie.
